My husband thinks I'm overstimulating our baby who is coming up to 3 months. He is awake most of the day, he sleeps from 8pm til 7am roughly, feeding every two hours ish but not properly waking for feeds, and he has two or three half hour naps a day and sleeps for feeds during the day. Should I be stricter with nap times?

I bf on demand which is normally between 1.5-3 hours each feed. And he sleeps on demand apart from our morning walk at 9.30 when he falls asleep in the pram every time.

I must add that he doesn't get much colic really and cries quite little I think for a baby. He only cries if he has wind when he wakes up in the.morning and when we put him in the car generally.

Honestly I can't remember what DS was sleeping at that age, but I think that sounds pretty good.

I wouldn't worry too much hon xx

Mine will be 12 weeks on Saturday and he's having 4 naps a day, anything between 45 mins and (if lucky) 90 mins. Average is one hour. I give him lots of stimulation between naps. Basically I follow a feed, play, nap plan but working around his demand feeds. I make sure he spends time playing or looking at his mobile toy, I read him a little story, Etc after feeds and before nap. With the playtime he becomes gradually tired and gives me the cues to help him go to sleep before he becomes hyperactive and grizzly.

Bee is 3 months tomorrow and is in no real routine other than she usually *touch wood* sleeps 11-6 at night with a few feeds..... she doesn't actually wake and we've started co sleeping so I can just stick her on boob when need be.

Some days she can nap for hours and other days its just a few cat naps. There is no rhyme or reason that I can identify. She hates her pram though, so much so that I'm debating putting her in the sitty up part (even though she is so young)

Thanks for all the replies. Sorpresa Bea that's kinda what I'm doing now but have only started to get into a routine in the last two weeks. CarnatiI've put my lo in the chair now even though it says 6 months on the instructions. I just strap him in tight and font have it fully upright. I do use a stretchy wrap too but I find it tricky to dress him right now its getting warmer.
