How long does the bleeding last...?

Joshua is 9 days old now and after a failed natural vaginal birth - I ended up having an emergency c section....however, the failed natural birth still led to a lot of bleeding and it just doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon.

How long does it normally take to stop completely...?

I bled for 3weeks exactly, but haemorrhage d during labour, so lost a lot immediately.I believe you can bleed for up to 6weeks! :S

4-5 weeks for me. It eases off towards the end, like the end of a period.

Haha yeh i have gone through a fair few, i probably stopped a couple days ago but didnt want to chance it xx

2 weeks for me, most of that was like a very light period.

I was very lucky (I normally have heavy periods so expected it to be carnage after giving birth but it was fine!)

I had an emergency c-section and my bleeding stopped at 3 weeks and started again at 4 weeks and ended at 6 weeks.

Just watch out with the pain relief they give you as it makes you think you're better healed than you actually are and you overstrain yourself. This will prolong the bleeding.

6 weeks for me too.....2 weeks heavy then light for the following weeks.

Pretty much the same as above. Don't over due things. The bleeding will dictate if you're doing too much. Don't let it get to that stage (guilty as charged). I m 5wks in now and had a bit of bleeding but more or less stopped x

You tend to bleed longer after a section, I bleed for about 9 weeks or more x

I had a csection and I stopped bleeding 4 days later then started again 2 days later really bad also pass loads of clots

I think last time i stopped at 4 weeks and couple of days later had more bleeding so in total close to 6 weeks. 3 and a bit weeks now and its really tailed off, just a pantyliner but fullt expecting more
