I have my referal through from the gp. I have 2 choices
One I know a little about because it was on one born every minute Liverpool women's so I know the Labour and delivery side is fab but the other I only know as a general hospital it's abit of a rubbish hospital by reputation.
How do you decide my gut is saying go with Liverpool women's but am I being wrong in not checking out the 2nd option should I get my Google on before trying

Done a little Google think I'm going to trust my gut I can't find hardly any information on the 2nd choices website that I can with Liverpool women's and it looks good

I might be making assumptions but I can just go by my experience.

The fertility clinic at the hospital is essentially part of the gynaecology department. If the Women's Centre has a good reputation overall then the fertility clinic is probably a part of that.

One major thing to factor in is location as you may have to go for several tests so choosing a different hospital which is further from home/work might make things a bit more tricky especially if you don't want to disclose things at work.

We had an exceptionally poor experience at the first NHS clinic we went to so it's really good to consider your options and try to make the right choice.

I know Liverpool women’s do a lot of specialist fertility testing - also it’s easy enough to get a parking space there right outside the hospital lol; been there myself a few times with my miscarriage and will be having my baby there! X

Thanks hun I've booked with them 4th march it's only 15 min drive with how my fella drives from us and at least if he is in work I can get the bus where the other was whiston and I know it will be a ball to get there and haven't heard great things about that hospital in general

Thanks hun I'm hoping by going with Liverpool women's it is easier to get to even if I'm on my own and it's good reputation we should be good the website gave loads of information so happy with that just feel like a total fish out of water at the moment and don't want to talk to my mum about it yet be chase it spoils the grandchild surprise if she knows we are undergoing investigations but she knows she went through it be it 28 years ago now

Here's a link to a website where you can compare the results of each hospital.
Choose a fertility clinic | Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority
It compares private against NHS and they are all scored against the same criteria (age / live births / multiple births) and you can access a copy of the results.
There's also a page on what you should ask. We found this pretty useful because the original clinic we had the tests with sold to another clinic and we had to switch! My OH is right into the data and the science, I go on how easy it is to get there and if they sound nice on the phone! x

Thank you so much hun that's really helpful xx

What was the other option? MY private clinic did al my testing but the IVF would have been done at the Womens also.

Whiston hospital was the 2nd option. Spoke to oh when he came home and he said women's is better for getting there for appointments specially if I ever have to go to some on my own. His sperm analysis is also there so might be handy having it both being done at the same place

I don’t think they do IVF at Whiston. I was told when I went there it would be done at Women’s anyway. They just order investigations. I originally went to Whiston (where baby will be born) and was unhappy so got to referred to Wrightington towards Wigan. They were fab.

I don't know I have to go through the testing and all that first to see what's going on and why I'm not getting pregnant. My oh says from ours they are both the same to get to when driving but agrees it's easier for me to get there if I'm getting the bus because it's a bus into the city then he says women's is walking distance ( might be for him and his long legs that behave) so women's does make it easier for me if I'm on my own going which hopefully I won't be might have to shoot a message to his nice manager
