Hiya, basically i have yet another cycle where my CM has been hostile, i had 1 day of watery cm, thats it, all rest creamy and horrible cm! im now starting to think this is why we are not pregnant yet and i will be on cycle 6 next month so getting a bit anxious and worried.

supplements i use at the moment are; zinc 15mg, coq10 100mg and folic acid 400mg. I also have cereal which has lots of fortified vitamins including iron and vitamin D and have 100% rda of vitamin c
Do any of those supplements cause a drying / hostile environment?

I am currently looking into Grapefruit juice (do they sell a supplement version at all? cause stuff is yuk!)
Gyfinacin, again is this actually for sale anywhere and if i am producing a limited amount should i not use this?
EPO, I used for a bit cycle 4 and it didnt really do anything but it was taken same time as pregnacare (which i have now stopped) and with all them B vits in cereal.

ANY advice on helping hostile CM, please advise. thank you

I don’t seem to produce a lot of CM myself and never see ewcm.. yet somehow still conceived (sadly lost). I think sometimes it’s there but we just don’t see it.

I’m not sure if any of those can cause it to dry up. Are you drinking enough water? Staying well hydrated is meant to help.

Did you mean Guaifenesin? If so it’s in most some cough medicines, muscus or chesty cough I think. I tried it for a few cycles from cd10-ovulation and it didn’t seem to make a difference for me. Like with Epo.. but it’s worth a go and not too expensive.

You could always try fertility lubricants. Pre seed or conceive plus xx

I've been wanting to write a post about CM/EWCM as I dont really notice much of a difference through my cycle, but then I'm not sure if that's because I'm not testing internally or not...

I've started using pre-seed this cycle and shall see how this goes. I suffer from really bad dry eyes and so wonder if other areas of my body/mucus membranes may be affected, which personally I feel is likely. (I take medication for a long term illness).

I don't think creamy CM is at all hostile - lots of women get pregnant with creamy...it's still fertile. Are you hydrating enough? That's important. Also yoga to get circulation going down there.

I certainly didn't have lots of EWCM, a small amount of slippery/wet was about the best I'd get and even then a day or two if I was lucky.

As Sunflower says good hydration is important and that's something easy you can do which has lots of benefits. I tried grapefruit juice and it barely lasted as it really is disgusting!! Evening primrose oil is also meant to help as Millie says but it made no difference for me. It should only be take up to ovulation though.

We did use fertility lubricants. Tried both Conceive Plus and Preseed and just used them like a regular lube. Didn't bother with the applicators. We happened to be using Preseed when we caught but I'm certainly not suggesting that was key. It may be worth a try though if you feel you're not producing enough.
