I have an appointment today with my doctor who treats me for anxiety and to see what we are going to do next. But the hospital has terrible parking because they are in the middle of a refurb so sometimes you can't get a space or I end up parked at other end of hospital. Its huge and I know I can't walk the whole way. My OH told me to just park up on a kerb or on a disabled space if I can't get parked cos I can't walk all that way or miss the appointment. I'm really wary cos I don't want to get a ticket. I have heard of them just letting the fine go though because of the problems with parking.
Do you think I should just take a note with me saying I'm almost 9 months pregnant and couldn't get space and just park in a disabled space if I can't get a normal one. There's always loads of spare disabled spaces. It's ironic cos this actually makes me anxious lol xx

I would ask at the main bit hun, they will be able to tell you. They told us just to put an hour on the car the other day as i never had much money and i just left it on for longer, they said it would be fine. They probably don't even check xxx

I got a ticket at the southern when i went for my scan, its a joke coz theres literally nowhere to park! u can always try it and see what happens. I had the same thing at the western last week and i just ended up in a disabled space and was lucky i didnt get caught! x

I know. The southern is a complete joke. The building I'm going to isn't the mat bit and there no spaces near it. Its around visiting time too so no chance I will get a space. My brother did tell me though that if you are issued a ticket by any other company other than the council that it doesn't mean anything. X

I would park where you suggest and put a note on like you say. I would Put your number on the note and tell them at reception what you've done. That's what I did when I went in the other day and security said it was fine to do that. X

I didnt know that. U can appeal your tickets anyway. I worked for the NHS and used to gets tickets everyday when i was pregnant with my son coz i wouldnt walk miles from my car. I used to just email them telling them i was heavily pregnant and wasnt walkin miles across hospital grounds and i wasnt paying. i never paid one of them. x

Cool think I will just park up and shove a note on and I will even note my hospital number if they really want to check that I'm genuine lol. Its ridiculous though. You would think out of all the places in the world to park that a hospital would have the best facilities xx

i know its ridiculous, especially a hospital of that size! Gonna be a pain for ppl visiting when were in! x

you have to pay?? its free for hospital parking here

I know Shauna that's crap that yours charges. Mines is free if you can get a space lol.

I know Kay it will be a nightmare for visitors. The sooner they finish that multi storey the better.

I've written my note haha and I'll just not pay if I get a ticket. Xx

Argh at Archway, parking is like a lottery! And you have to pay through the nose - £3.20 an hour in some streets! + :slap: I don't understand why they don't just build multi-storey parking near hospitals for both patients and visitors.:wall2: sorry rant over.

I do agree with putting a note on your windscreen...good luck and let us know how you get on!

i think its unreasonable to expect you to walk so far being pregnant. i struggle in normal size spaces now as they are so skinny and make getting out of car an issue. iv'e been parking in parent and child and have out my baby on board sign in car.

technically i have a baby on board. he is just on board me.

if you get a ticket just explain the situatuion hun. and wow to not having to pay. all the hospitals here charge. paid £2 the other day when i popped with my nan and she was in there 10 minutes. xxx

I'm so lucky u live 5mins from the hosp so usually walk to my appoints! X

All the disabled spaces were taken and no space to be seen so I parked on a double yellow. Just as I was getting out car though a space appeared out of nowhere so I managed to sneakily get it before anyone else :)
Didn't get to use my sign haha but i have kept it incase I need it again lol xx

haha ye keep your sign! that was really lucky u got a space!Hope your appointment went well. x
