So this is my second, but I've basically forgot what to pack.

We're going away for the weekend in the morning and my midwife said to pack my bag just in case.

I've a bag for little one which has

2 tiny baby vests
2 tiny baby suits

Baby is estimated 7lb 6 and first size starts at 9lb? Should I pack first size too? And will 2 of each be enough if the pregnancy has thus far been straight forward? (Not expecting to have to stay in this time.)

2 cardigans
1 wool blanket
2 dummies
1 box of milk (6 in a box)
1 small tube of sudocrem
1 packet of cotton pads
1 packet of newborn nappies

Is this enough?

Haven't packed mine yet, but have bought

2 packets of
maternity pads

and was planning on packing

PJs
Clean set of comfy clothes
Big knickers
Phone charger
Toiletries bag
Notes

What have I inevitably missed?

What are you wearing (if anything!) to give birth in? Or are you planning hospital gown?

Headphones maybe? I cannot be without mine! Hat for baby? I'd maybe pack some first size too just in case as they don't take up much room x

Last time I wore a vest, I actually still have it even though it's stained in blood! Ew! Lol

Oh my I never even thought of hats. Whoops. I'll put a couple of first size in too then but I certainly hope he's not 9lb  x

Beast pads? Even if you're not planning to breast feed, they might still leak!

I've got two newborn (up to 7lbs 8) size baby grows, vests and hats and two up to 9lbs babygrows, vests and hats. My daughter was 7lbs 8 at birth so I'm taking both in case.

Hmm I never thought of that either, although I didn't leak with my daughter, it barely came out when I fed. I think I have some in a cupboard somewhere though!

I've forgot muslin cloths and bibs. Because my LO didn't feed in hospital (pretty much at all!!) I feel like I don't know what to take feeding wise. :/

So you're taking two that's okay then, I'm sure with my daughter I took about 50 lol x

I was in for 4 nights with my daughter so my partner had to bring in more clothes for both of us, it's not a big deal if he has to do that again!

What about lucozade sport and chocolate or crisps? I remember having midnight feast afterwards, I actually got into trouble for it with all my rustling on the wards lol x

I've packed a hand held fan as I hate overheating!!!

I would be inclined to bring more clothes for both of you, but then I over pack. Straws might be helpful, and definitely bring snacks. I took first size/newborn and 0-3, he was 8lb 13 and the latter drowned him initially. He's just gone out of newborn/first size at 2 weeks old.

I've never used sudocrem and never had nappy rash. It's a complete gimmick as it actually stops the nappy from absorbing correctly, therefore causes nappy rash. I wouldn't bother with it myself.

I've used it on myself, it's good for bumps and bites, but never on my daughter and she's also never had nappy rash. The most I've used on her is vaseline.

I over packed by loads first time.

Second time I took 4 outfits, vests, bibs, hat, cardy, muslin, blanket, water wipes, a dummy (didn't use), nappies. We only used two outfits as I was out 6hr after having him.

For me I took a maxi dress (primark vest one) I wore it in labour with my sports bra, slippers, light night gown, a pair of socks, brush hairband and bobble, lip balm, a flannel(which ended up being my best item to cool me in a hot pool), 2 pairs of pj bottoms with vests, a jog suit for home time, pack of mat pads and nipple pads, witch hazel, big pants, toiletries.. and I think that was it.

I only ended up taking a couple extra sets of clothes for him and pj bottoms for me that I didn't use. The rest I did and I didn't go without anything. Plus it fitted in my weekend case and baby stuff in change bag.

Sizes I took first size. He was 8lb exactly and in that size for a couple weeks.
