My husband and I, have 2 girls names in mind if this bean is in fact a girl, but cannot agree which way round it should be. Both will be used but in which order.

I know I shouldn't worry what other people think of the names we have chosen but it appears we are getting a bit of flack because one of the names reminds people of an animated character which hasn't the most flattering of meanings!

Your honesty is greatly appreciated :)

So we like

Edith and Pepa/pepper, but which way round?

Edith pepper H or Pepper Edith H?

Thankyou for taking the time to read x

Much prefer Edith!

I have a 2 year old who loves that bloody pig who begins with P (I can't even say the name )

Don't like Pepper / Pepa at all - sorry!

X

I must admit that I'm not keen on either name (sorry, I'm just being honest as requested!) but I would choose Edith first definitely. Really not keen on Pepper/Pepa. I didn't immedaitely think of the pig but I did just think of salt and pepper :oooo:

As you've said, it doesn't really matter what others think. If you love the names then don't let what anyone else says put you off xx

My son is obsessed with peppa pig too so that was the first thing I thought of, sorry! Edith would be my preference. Just an idea but what about Edith Piper instead if pepper? Xx

I agree with the other ladies Edith for sure. Not keen on pepa/pepper sorry xx

Edith is lovely! Not sure about pepper reminds me of the pig or salt and pepper x

Thanks ladies!
You don't have to be sorry, the only reason I don't really picture the pig is because I have 2 boys.
I prefer Edith/ Edie for short most likely too.
Just the husband to convince.... That's saying in not having a boy?!

Haha.

How about Pippa? Sounds a little more pleasant in my opinion, yet very similar!

I think Edith is lovely and unusual but I'm also not too keen on Pepper. It makes me think of the food and kind of makes me want to sneeze haha.

Pepper was on my baby name list at one point with my son and I called a chicken it in the end.
Piper was on there too and very nice tho as an alternative Edith Piper or Piper Edith?

Hi hun

While I think it sounds kinda pretty & unusual, I think having 'Pepper' as a first name would lead to all sorts of school-yard bullying for your child once she was older, so for that reason alone I wouldn't recommend it (children can be cruel!).

Plus, every parent and child you meet over the next few years is, sadly, going to think of the pig!

xx

Yeah I think so too, baby isn't here yet and when I mention the name, I get stick for it?!
My DH is dead keen on the name though so I have a bit of persuading to do, lol!

I did mention Martha to him, but he hates that, lol

Hannah

I had a hamster called Pepper when I was little, that's who I think of! Then the pig...

Definitely Edith, I like the old names coming back, my lo has Elsie as a middle name

Martha is top of our list so far for a girlie.... it's lovely :) xx

I prefer Pepa or Pippa. Not keen on Edith as it sounds like a little old granny's name. My neighbor also used to have a little terrier called Edith.

The name Pepa was invented before said cartoon character. No matter which name you choose, there will be people who hate it so it's futile to try and please everyone else. Go with what you like.
