Hi all,

After thinking it was going to be an amazing struggle to get OH to pick names (he wouldn't even look at the book for weeks!) I think we've chosen our boys name:

Dylan Robert

The help that I need is that OH has seen it spelt Dillon which he prefers. After searching I found that Dillon is actually an Irish name with a different meaning to Dylan. My question is does anyone know if Dillon is pronouned in the same way as Dylan? Having a few Irish friends I know that names are sometimes pronounced differently but we don't want anyone to know our choices so can't ask them really.

We're still working on the girls list but have shortened it to 7 names!

Thanks for your help

I used to work in a nursery and there were 2 little boys, one spelt Dylan the other Dillon. Their mums pronounced them the same way, so I suppose it depends which spelling/meaning u prefer xx

Hey,

Yeah I think they are pronounced the same way... There's an actor isn't there called Matt Dillon and he pronounces it the same, so I guess it's the same for a first name.

Love the name! My little nephew (well not so little - he's almost 9 now!) is called Dylan and I've always liked it!

I love the spelling of Dillon as well though, it's a bit different, but it just depends if you have a preference of the meaning. I think spelling is important as well because it changes the way names look written next to each other... So it depends if you like how it looks next to Robert and your last name.

xx

Dillion is pronounced the same as Dylan hun and it is a lovely name

Thanks all

Ft90 my hubby made the same comment about matt dillon! I think either way of spelling it goes well with all names and we'll probably go with hubby's spelling as I have chosen the middle name
