Home Visit??

Does the midwife still do a home visit late on in pregnancy?

when i had my dd 15 years ago my MW came round to do a home visit, she asks about birth plans, where baby will sleep, bottle/B feeding, smoking in the house etc

its a nice casual visit i guess the reason behind it is to see how you live and if it was any help to give if needed.

it was the done thing then but no one has mentioned it to me so far

Nothing has been mentioned to me about any home visits! Maybe each area is different... I know some people have had midwife visits at home earlier in the pregnancy

I dont think this is standard practice anymore. I've heard of it if person has extra needs though.

I never got a visit with my first, that was 7 years ago and not heard about it since, defo doesn't happen in glasgow anyway.

I will be getting a home visit but thats because I am having a home birth

im guessing its money and manpower or lack of it these days, so maybe its not dont x
