Hey lovelies.

I am trying to work out my year around TTC etc... Obviously I know no dates are 100% as we might not concieve the month we hope but...

We are booking up a family holiday for Florida in July 2016 - my mum is buzzing but Im now thinking, 2016 I wanted to TTC..

I wanted to avoid November-January only because Jackson's birthday is January and Xmas is the December.

Has anyone been on a long haul flight being pregnant with a toddler?

Jackson is really good on transport, we once did a 3h bus journey and he didnt budge so not really the main concern, more so heat, size of belly LOL and plus... Ive never been able to drink in America when been previously but Im over 21 now so...

TTC when we come back is always an option - ideally not though :p

Opinions?

Not sure really - I think the only thing to say is that is very heard to judge how you feel, just because you were ok with your last pregnancy doesn't mean to say you'll be ok with this one and hide versa. Likewise it's difficult to plan/avoid certain times really once you start to Ttc.

My little one was born in Feb and I'm now expecting again in feb! Not exactly ideal but once I'd got the idea of being pregnant in my head I didn't really care when.

Provided you've got help it shouldnt be too much of an issue but depends on how you feel at the time.

I suppose you just need to figure out whether you really want to go or not based on Ttc and then if you decide you do then you just need to plan Ttc around it to a point so you'll be able to fly etc

I have a huge support network. 6 adults including myself and daddy will be attending.

Thank you :)

Are you ttc for an edd before Nov 2016 or going to start ttc in 2016?

X

I did hope to start TTC about January, getting coil out in December and winging it from there but Im just trying to work out if its easier/better to wait until back orrr whens the best stage to go on holiday if you are pregnant.

Obviously its not visable saving for a huge family holiday and trying to save to add an addition to your family..

Basically I just dont want an EDD from November-January. Anything else Im happy with (obviously not promised those EDD's lol)

Could you start TTC after your Florida holiday? It sounds like a really special holiday so maybe focus on that before TTC if you're in no rush to conceive?

Im in no rush to TTC at this moment in time, but if I left it till when I come back meaning Jackson will be almost 4 and thats not in my plans. I will have a baby before then lol, holiday or not.

November 2015 is a bit impossible. Im not pregnant atall :p Just dont want another Winter baby.

Maybe start TTC just before holiday then, so you're not heavily pg on holiday?

I think if I did that Id need to TTC up until like Feb then stop. Then start again maybe once we were away on holiday, because last time I TTC I caught first month, pregnant April and popped out a late baby in January..

Just really wondering if anyone has been on holiday to Florida being pregnant, was everything ok heat and humidity wise. I used to go but that was before I was growing a tiny human also before I had a middle sized talking running about little human

Awww I love having two winter babies. Gives us all loads to look forward to that time of year.

Couldn't imagine a summer baby now?

Winter babies have meant I've never been heavily pregnant in the hot months (not that you get hot months in Scotland ha ha!!) Plus if you still have all Jackson's stuff you may get to reuse it with another winter baby?

I'd personally wait until after the holiday. If you start ttc in Dec/Jan then you'll be too pregnant to fly in July - depending on airline but I think some long haul have a 30w cut off point - and anything after Feb / Mar will give you a Nov edd.

:sob:

I will need to rejig something!

Tbh I did like having a January baby however, D's bday is 3rd, J's is the 9th, FIL is 12th January. Im 25th Feb (which I HATE) February birthdays are awful.

I wouldnt mind November but thats just a bit close before xmas... Also I think Id like to be able to venture out into the world. Our weather isnt great so in January we never got anywhere, I got total cabin fever.

I dont want to be heavily pregnant in the heat either, our summers arent too bad but obviously Florida is hot and humid. BUT I do want to have those days out with my NB instead of hiding away in the snow.

I think Ill wait till June if the holiday goes ahead. If we book the holiday soon Ill hold off till June and TTC once there and see if my mum can go in the June instead of the July (should be fine as she gets the whole summer off).

There has been no talks of holidays, I start thinking about dates for TTC and all of a sudden its holiday time.

A holiday would be fab though, Im a Disney kid at heart and its been 4 years since I did Disney! Id love to do it with Jackson.

Maybe start ttc a couple of months later so you could be a few weeks gone on holiday, will your toddler be under or over 2? (Just thinking will he have his own seat or not? That makes a difference, I worked for an airline before falling pregnant, as long as your prepared you'll be fine. Carnat is right, you can usually fly up to 32 maximum with doctors note but I think being that heavily pregnant on a longhaul you will be uncomfortable. We are going to Greece next summer but want to ttc again even though we had trouble this time round we are going to try on the basis I won't be more than 4/5 months gone on holiday.

Jackson will be 3.5 months so seating, lifting etc not so much an issue at that age. More so, me, I don’t want to go there and the heat kick the hell out of me – cant breathe etc. I think it’s most visable for me to TTC from June as originally planned.

It is annoying knowing you cant just say ok ill have a baby from this month onward – I was lucky last time to fall quickly but this time round im not garanteed that.

This is me not that broody aswell, I am just aware that the age gap I wanted has approached, I imagine by Xmas Ill be dying to TTC so, waiting for another 8-9 month to come back and possibly fall pregnant is just too long

We have a big family holiday booked for next June abroad when B will be nearly 4. Started ttc jan, got preggers May then miscarried in June. Fell pregnant again August so am just over 6 weeks. Baby is due 6 weeks before holiday.
What I will say is there no knowing when you'll fall pregnant! With B it only took just over 3 months, I felt great the whole time, loads of energy and no sickness.
This time is so different! Tiredness and feeling dizzy and queasy. Partly because I'm running round after a toddler so I can't sit down when I want or grab something to eat as and when. I wanted a 3 year ish gap but now nearly 4 which I'm glad about as B will start school in the September so I should get some alone time with baby.
I would say go for it as I did a lot of planning around dates and it all went tits up lol

So true Mrs T. I was sick for 9 months morning noon or night, mostly daytime but anything set me off esp the heat. I think ill TTC once there, i may even come back with a Disney baby

I went to Florida at 16 weeks pg and had no problems. Only thing was I couldn't go on all the rides at the theme parks or eat their amazing steaks medium done lol!! I guess to make the best out of the holiday id say it's better to not be pregnant but I depends what you want more! Xx

Ive been and done the rides, David would probably go or my brothers. Id just go along for the food and the mall :) lol.

I will be prob TTC once there.

Thank you everyone

There's a Facebook group called "its Orlando time" - it's massive and if you ask in there how ladies have coped pregnant in sure you'll get loads of advice on the heat etc. x

Can't advise on a toddler etc but I went to Singapore and Thailand when I was 7-9 weeks pregnant. I can't say the heat was an issue for me, well no more so than usual! And if anything it helped me look after myself more making sure I was well hydrated and topping up sun cream more often. The flights I was fine with and the journeys were 15 hours+. But then there are no guarantees you'll have an easy first trimester x
