HG and NVP thread

haha, 2nd trimester full of energy? god I think all of us on this thread can relate to that not being the case! xx

I know that paragraph should read tri 1 really awful tri 2 still just as awful and tri 3 AWFUL! Haha how r u Steffy? Xx

I'm doing ok. Still got awful nausea, but the sickness has calmed down. It's the tiredness that's my downfall at the moment. I'm still taking my meds as fear If I came off them that the nausea would soon turn to vomiting. Went out for a meal with OH the other night, was really nice but was pleased to leave as all the smells of food were starring to get a bit much. My friend who is pregnant was sick once this week at 11 weeks and moaned to me. Could have exploded :-( Scan 2 weeks on fri so looking forward to that, want to see if I'm keeping up the team pink on this thread :-) how r u xx

That's good that ur starting to get out and about for meals that was a turning point for me and I was about ur stage then too. But continued taking meds til last week 23 weeks and have dropped it to 2 tablets now so it's getting there. I bet u can't wait to see if it's another pink one, what do u think it is? Xx

Gut feeling another pink one. But only my mum and work friend agree with me, everyone else thinks boy. OH is a farmer so we need a boy at some point to pass the farm to but neither of us have got our heart set on anything. We will be happy either way but if it was a boy it would take pressure off me to try again if you know what I mean. We always wanted 3 but this has put me off to be honest xx

Morning ladies :) hope you are well?

Steffy I'm still on my meds too, although I have managed to drop to 1 a day from 3 a day, except days I'm working and I take 2. I know it's still too soon to stop them completely as I stsrt to feel really sicky if I don't take my tablet in the morning.

Exciting for your scan too, it's the week after mine, although we are team yellow still. Be interesting to know if they are all girls causing is all this sickness. As mad as it sounds I'm still not put off trying for a 3rd but deciding to wait til these ones are in school/ nursery so I don't have to be on full time baby duties lol

I'm feeling pretty ill today, as had next to no sleep the last few nights as harry has not been sleeping well :( He has the same cough as me and last night we had to have him in our bed as he was waking every 10-15mins crying and coughing. So exhausted and it's making me feel rea

The third trimester you will be motivated but exhausted. You will want to sleep all the time but will not be able to. You will not be able to get comfortable. Once you are comfortable and dozing off, your baby will decide that it’s time to throw a uterus rave. You will feel like a narcoleptic with a conjoined manic-meth-head twin.......

Pahahaaaaaaaaaa this is hilarious, describes me brilliantly!

How is everyone feeling? U okay kanga?

Exciting about the scan steffy! Interesting to see if we are all having girlie's!

Keeptrying I ordered my pram I ordered my pram I ordered my pram and I'm a tad excited, got the email and it said if we need it sooner than 4-6 weeks to ring and tell them, Sooo we did and it's coming end of this week!

I had my midwife appointment yesterday, baby's doing fab! But she took one look at me and went to reception and booked me in with the doctor, saw him and I have bronchitis! Boooo! Bedrest and TLC from the hubby needed! She also retook my bloods to see if I'm anaemic so will hopefully hear about them today or tomorrow, Aaaand my pulse is abit fast but Meh! She said the baby is thriving so ide rather me than her!!

Xxx

Steffy and kanga question for you. What does labour actually feel like? Like is the contractions bearable? Or is it like I feel like in dying pain?? Whats the worst but first bit or pushing? Just want honest idea really started to think about it recently.

Jem that's awful u have bronchitis are U on a lot of anti biotics? I know the article is funny very blunt but true!!! That's so exciting about the pram ul have to tell me what it's like and post a pic of it xxx

Ide like to know about labour too lol. What's the pain actually like? Will I turn into a crazed monster begging for pain relief? Did u shout?

Doc gave me amoxicilin, haven't got yet tho coz he is wanted me to give it a few days. But rekon I'll go get tomo if no better. They rang again today and prams coming tomo! I'll defo post pic. I know I'm Guna wana take it out for a stroll but will blatantly look like a idiot with no baby init and by big bump haha. Maybe just laps of the garden will have to do xx

I was induced on 41+5 and then went I to labour that night. full on contractions started about 3am and I had her at 6.26am. the contractions were painful, but I only had time for gas and air, although these kept it well controlled to be honest. Yes it hurts, but I honestly think I had fear of the unknown. I think the worst part is when the head crowns and there is a sting, might sound wierd but that was the worst part for me. But don't be worried about it, as I think that is where I went wrong. I had a 3rd degree tear and haemorrhage and here I am doing it again :-)
I think you have to mentally prepare yourself that it's going to hurt like you've never felt before, but not be afraid to ask for the pain relief that is available to you. Can't tell you what it feels like as I think everyone is individual. It prob makes no sense at all but it's very hard to describe xx

So it was a quick labour but a few issues. Was it a bad haemorrhage? That scares me the most. When u do it this time will you try just has and air again or will you go for an epi? Thanks for sharing good to start getting used to the idea lol xx

Jem u should put a dog in it look like the old ladies who walk down my street lol!! I bet once you get it the urge to go out for a walk will be massive lol. Laps in garden sounds a good idea xx

My labour was quite intense, I was in pain constantly from the moment my waters went at midnight, the pains would just increase in intensity. I could liken the pains to really really bad wind/constipation cramps that hit you in waves, but worse. I had gas and air and it really does help, it doesn't necessarily help with the pain, but it does stop you caring. Whilst on gas and air I had several people looking between my legs and as my sister describes a man doctors arm up my foof!! I don't really remember lol I can't comment on the pushing bit as I had a c section, but I do remember asking for an epidural, but I think that was because the contractions were one on top of the other, I didn't have chance to recover between contractions. I watch OBEM in envy when I see ladies talking happily between contractions cos I certainly didn't have that. xx

Yes, but as soon as the midwife realised what was happening the room filled with people so looking back I feel it was very well dealt with. The tear was most likely due to the fast labour and that I had to have the drip at 6am as contractions weren't lasting long enough to give me a good push so once the drip worked I pushed so hard as she was in distress. I doubt I will have time for any pain relief and waiting for a consultant appt to discuss things as they won't want me to labour at home and hospital is almost an hour away. But I'm not worried about anything, the pain was very manageable for me and I know I was lucky for that. Best advice is to go with whatever happens, you aren't going to change it with worrying but you need to be open as to what they can do and remember whatever they do will be in the interest of your health and your baby's xx

Seems like everyones labour is different then, I don't think anything can prepare us for the pain, im Guna go into it with my mind open!

Did u girls write a birth plan? I don't know whether too, I mean will it go like the plan?

Keeptrying........... Guess what just been delivered! Oh golly goshy I'm excited. Husband ran me a bath and told me to have that before I can open it tho....mega quick hairwash for me!

Xx

Thanks for sharing girls :) like u said nothing will change what's going to happen so may as well just go with it! I'm such a control freak it's really hit me in pregnancy that I have no control over anything and that's what scares me :)

Eeeekkkkkk jem I love it!! So jealous right now! Was it all good when it came? I have asked for mine in 6 weeks so a little while yet! R u playing with it now? Just walking up and down the hallway?! Xx

Lovely Jem! I keep looking at prams but we kept our silver cross from last time as only used it for 4 months and we both loved it.
Yes I wrote a birth plan, but more it was what I wanted and didn't want to happen. Like I wanted a managed 3rd stage, wanted Abi to have to vitamin K. Didn't want an epidural, but would consider diamorphine. Who I wanted there, to cut the cord. Things like that xx

Hehe I love it, Yeh done a few laps of the house lol! It came in 2 big boxes, one with carseat in and the rest in the other, u need patients to put it together tho lol!

When do the midwifes ready through your birthplan? When u get to the hospital? I've seen on in the nhs website it's a template, I might do that.

Xx

They will read it once you are settled on the delivery suite and a midwife has been assigned to you at a guess. Maybe if you are induced the midwife inducing will have a read so she can hand info over when you move to delivery suite xx
