HG and NVP thread

Hey jemfox so pleased u had a good day its so nice when u have a good one makes u feel so much better. I've been sick twice already on the sofa watching the olympics xx

Hiya girls sorry I haven't been in touch been so unwell :( am admited to hospital now and doesn't look like il be comeing home for a while, I do have appendicitis or n inflamed rumbling appendix, there trying to treat it with IV antibiotics as they would rather not do surgery coz of risks for baby,, am an emotional wreck if am honest Am dreding surgery av never had a general anesthetic or surgery befor and am so so worried about the risks to my baby, still sick and in pain :( praying the antibiotics work and I can avoid surgery atleast untill my baby is older she's only 22 weeks it's so unfair n I feel so guilty and Angry at my body is just letting her down and not protecting her like it's ment to, I just don't understand why am getting so unwell can't believe this is happening,

I hope everyone's okay and doing well xxx

thinking of u

xx

Oh rhea so sorry to hear this. Ur so brave and strong you can get through it. Will they wait if they can for a couple of weeks to do surgery if they need to? Or they just waiting to see? How's the sickness is that still as bad? Thinking of u lots of love and cuddles xXxx

Thanks girls, yes there wanting to so surgery but would rather not becoz am pregnant as the risks associated with it, the doctor said if I was further along he would of arranged a c-section and then for appendix to be removed, am so so worried am gona need surgery and put my baby at risk, am now worried am gona need to deliver her really prem, I just pray my body is strong enough an reacts well to these antibiotics, just can't take no more pain, and stress and worry, and yep the HG is still ther but I wud rather hav that everyday till 40 weeks than hav surgery now and put my baby at risk, av just got to wait and see how I go xx

We'll fingers and toes and everything crossed that u can get to 27-30 weeks before surgery is needed. Please keep us updated we r all here for u anytime u need a chat xxxx

Hiya ladies!

Rhea how are u doing?

Yay mummy midwife! How was it scan...a Lil girl Awww lovely! That's 3 of us having girls now hehe.

Xx

The nhs website does say you are more likely to suffer bad sickness if carrying a girl and so far that's being proven! I wasn't so ill with my son so wonder if I'm having a girl too? We are staying team yellow tho, we both want a surprise!

Really hope rhea is ok as no word from her...x

Thank you girls :)
The scan was absolutely amazing, the children were jumping in the scan room and couldn't really sit down they were so excited. The 4d video was brilliant but baby wouldn't stay still so the pics were rubbish but never mind, got to see our little princess and we are a happy family !!!!!!

I won't buy anything yet until it is confirmed at my 20 week scan.

Maybe we are all having girls ? Although when I had HG 1st time it was with my boy .

How is everyone feeling? I hope Rhea is ok

X

Hiya girls aww mummy midwife congrats!!! I luv ur scans amazin pics :)

Girls I have good news!! My white blood cell count has came down from 12 to 5 so the infection in my appendix is going yayy :) the surgeon has just been to aee me had a feel of my stomach said it's went softer aswell which is good, am still in pain but he said I will be for anouther week atleast, he said I may be able to go home Wednesday with tablet antibiotics and I can hopefully avoid surgery for now, just praying I keep improveing and don't take a turn for the worse, how's everyone doin?

I am extremely angry with the woman's hospital tho am putting in a complaint! 3 times I had been in there and they said there was no way it was appendicitis just gas and stretching! Said all my bloods wer fine and everything, a midwife was ment to come In yday to chek on baby and no one turned up, the surgeon was so angry and said they aren't qualified to rule out anything there obstetricians if the baby was fine they should of admited me immediately to him, because it turned out it was indeed my appendix, my own midwife has also ignored me I have rang her twice and left a voice message and text message, her phone was also off on one occasion, am not happy atall with how I have been treated xxx

Hey Rhea, that's amazing news, I am so pleased that you are improving and have everything crossed that you will continue to improve and go home soon ! So relieved hun.
It sounds like they haven't treated you right at all and do put a complaint in Rhea, they have to take things seriously until proved otherwise, it really angers me when people don't do their job properly and your life and baby's life can suffer as a consequence * grrr*. However I am very pleased that they are looking after you at this hospital , so amazing you don't need surgery for now :)

Lots of get well soon wishes xxxx

Hey rhea. Awww great news!

Bad about the womens hospital, defo put in a complaint, I had consultant treat me when I was just in for hg, the midwives only changed my drip ect and more like mentally supported me!

Fingers crossed ur on the road to recovery now!!

Xx

That's amazing news rhea soooo happy for you!! That's such great news I'm pleased ur finally being looked after properly. Its awful what the womens hospital put u thro they should be ashamed. I have made it to iceland today! Pleased I came was only sick once on plane so not bad going. Think just getting away out of my house will help me too. I'll keep cjecking in see how everyone is doing. Very excited as get to see the northern lights tonight! Xxx

Thanks girls aww ano am hopeing I can avoid surgery till baby is atleast 28 weeks even that is so prem but that is the least age I wud want her to be deliverd, the surgeon doesn't want me to have a natural labour tho, he said I will be having a planned section if the appendicitis stays at bay, and then hav the appendix removed, I don't mind aslong as me and baby are safe and healthy I don't mind how she is deliverd, av jut constantly gota be on watch now incase it comes back am just never gona get to enjoy my pregnancy atall,

A midwife came out befor he listend in on baby she seems fine she said that il need to be watched more by a midwife aswell as appendicitis could make the uterus contract, am still so stressd! My baby jst isn't going to be 100% safe tills she's a bit bigger and stronger and born, I feel awfull about it all really guilty :(

Am still in pain and gona have to just be on bed rest for a few weeks an on antibiotics it's so unfair! But am sure me n my princess will get ther in the end,, il have a scan done on my appendix and baby befor am gone aswell so looking forward to seein my baba, I hope everyone is okay tonyt, thanks for all caring bout me n baby n all your kind words :) xxxx

Hey ladies, I've been a bit AWOL off this thread for a while, so just had a catch up.

Mummy midwife, yay for team pink :) can't believe there are 3 of you all team pink and have HG. I think I'm having another boy as it was really sick in my first pregnancy too, plus I just have a feeling.

Rhea, I am so glad that the antibiotics are working, but so sorry your having such a tough time :( it's good that they are looking after you well, and that you will get to see baby again. I hope the appendix behave for you now so that you don't have to worry and baby can grow nice and strong for you.

Keeptrying, have a fab holiday :)

I'm doing much better since being on the ondansetron, but actually being sick more. Had 3 evenings of being sick in the last week, but I can handle those as I'm feeling so much better during the day, actually able to function and get dressed lol. I heard baby's heartbeat for the first time on Friday at 9+2 weeks and that was such a good feeling. I was meant to have my booking in appointment today but my midwife is sick so going on Thursday now with a cover mw instead. I also have a private scan booked up for 7:30 tomorrow evening so super excited to see baby wriggle around. Got another 2 weeks off work too, as I just don't feel ready to try and do any night shifts just yet, plus my ban passed away on Saturday so got to go up north to her funeral at some point so glad I don't have to tell work anything.

So that's me, hope everyone else is well. xx

Keeptrying have a fab time and enjoy the northern lights :) woohoo !

Thanks Kaga, I can't believe 3 of us having a girl , you may be in for a surprise and be team pink too. I am glad you feel bit better on ondasentron, I would be lost without it, if you are still vomiting maybe consider going to 8mg? It made a huge difference to me.

I feel better from sickness, last time I had HG it started getting better at 16 weeks so mb I will be lucky again, I have just been sick but think more due to the cold I have than anything else. I will try lowering ondasentron to 4mg at weekend and see how I get on. I have phoned in sick for tomorrow as really pooy with cold, I seen to be more home than work since getting pregnant, but needs must !

Xxxxx

I hope now your 16 weeks mummy midwife that your HG is stopping for you. I got better from 14ish weeks last time, which is when I stopped the tablets, but still felt iffy on and off until 19 weeks. Hoping I'm lucky enough this time, even though the sickness is worse this time around.

I will have been off work longer than I was in my new job!! I bet they hate me lol

I will be completely shocked if I get told girl at our 20 week scan lol only at least 11 weeks to go! I don't even have a 12 week scan date yet! xx
