HG and NVP thread

Been prescribed onstr.... whatever they are called. Been to 3 chemists who don't have them! Told me if they don't start working tonight, then I need to be admitted to hospital feel like crying and don't know what to do. Do I just go to hospital when hubby is home from work? xx

Decided to go to the hospital. Waiting for hubby to get home and the in laws to turn up to watch harry, then we are going down. Do you think I will stay overnight? xx

Aw kanga I hope the ondansetron work for u, I think they might keep you in, explain how bad you have been, did the doctor test ur wee? Am hopei g u get some relief tonyt Hun

Mummy midwife yes it's nice havn a big family aw glad ur feelin okay I am feelin like crap today, my chest is tight n am so nauseous feel like am jst gona vomit

Yeah he said I had extreme ketones, what ever that means xx

Yes hospital will defo keep you in, keetones r produced when ur body is starving n dehydrated and will start to use up stored fat n energy, ur dehydrated Hun no wounder u feel so bad with extreme keetones, u shud feel better afta Havin some fluids n antisicknes in u xx

Oh no kanga I had the same problem! No chemist stocked them! Lucky they do now coz I get prescription every 10 days.
The hospital will give u it intravenously and give u fluid so hopefully Ull feel better! They should also send u home with some!

Kanga would think they will keep you in until the ketones have gone and your sickness is under control. They kept testing my urine in hospital and continued to give me fluids until I had only a trace of ketones. Really hope you can get it sorted hon xxx

I have been admitted to hospital and had iv ondansetron and now got iv fluids going in. Feeling a bit better already overnight stay needed though. Thank you for pushing me to go. Signal crap here so will update when I can xx

Aww am so glad ur feeling bit better already, these fluids n IV meds shud hopefully break the bad sickness cycle u hav been having, I hope u hav a good nights sleep n r feelin much better in the morning, let us know how u r in the morning, am of to sleep now gud night Hun xx

Ah kanga I'm so pleased u went in. I promise u will feel so much better. Make sure u don't leave until u ready tho hun first time I left the nxt day and then got re admited the following week. Let us knw how u r getting on xx

Girls am abit worried :/
Av been having really tight pains both sides of my lower stomach through out the night and this morning I can't walk straight or lift my legs the pains just go really tight n sore, should I ring my midwife? Or is this normal xx

Hi rhea, as this is my first I'm not sure what happens but I know my cousin is 38 weeks and she said that since about 20 weeks she has had bad round ligament pain, braxton hicks and what feels like bad period pain. I'm sure its all normal but I'd just ring midwife will put ur mind at rest straight away xxx

Yes I was thinkin it cud be ligaments or Braxton hips it's so sore! Baby is kicking away right now
So she seems happy enuff ha, it's makin me feel really sick too, av just tried ringin my midwife but no

Well we had a fun evening not! Got taken to the gynae ward at 10:30pm and dumped into an emergency bay. When the nurse finally came she said I was having another lot of iv fluids and sent home. We were discharged at 1:30am! Apparently they don't admit you for hyperemesis at our hospital! Have to go back today to get my tablets too as they don't have them on the ward so I have to go to the hospital pharmacy in a bit. Can't say I feel amazing, but I suppose I'm better than I have been the last two days at least. Very tired though xx

Kanga that's awful! I can't believe they treated u like that. It makes me so angry that hg isn't taking as seriously as it should be. I am sorry u had a bad experience with them. Thinking of u hun xx

Girls am really worried my midwife sed I need to go the maternity assent unit and get checked am panicking now :/ xx

It is crazy! Apparently if you go during the day for HG they sit you in a waiting room attached to the drip, give you 2 lots of fluids and send you home, even if you still have ketones in your pee. I had 2+ when discharged! They only admit you if your still vomiting on the iv anti sickness, which I wasn't as I wasn't eating or drinking anything at that point. Still feel awful trying to eat or drink even today, kept it all down though.

Rhea, I'm sure everything is fine, your midwife is just being cautious. Maybe they will give you something for the pain. Good luck xx

Kanga surprised ur hospital did that! Mine demanded I stayed in....3 times! Just proves hg isn't as recognised as it should be!
How u feeling now?
I've had a few arguments with hubby, im exhausted lately and he's telling me to get out and do stuff coz I'm making myself worse, he can't see that I still feel shit even tho I'm not throwing up the whole time anymore. Don't know what to say to him. Putting a strain on our relationship I think after so long of me being ill !

Rhea how are you? I get like period pains each morning but not like ur describing.... Hope alls ok. Let us know.
