hey all, sort of newbie Q about metformin xx

Hey all, I say sort of newbie because I read all the posts and have done for past few months but didnt reg with site lol I think now is the time as I think I need support and reading you all finding your all very supportive and friendly here. Anyways lol a lil about me...​

im 29 and been ttc for 10 years now grr I have ectopic feb 2003 lost half left tube.
Since 03 I only have AF once or twice a year grr
so specialist put me on metformin 1500 day since 28th march this year which helped me with my AF, They still not reg but had about 5 AF since..
Had ultra sound in april which confirmed PCOS..
Last month about 4 weeks ago I had Lap, Dye and drill - they found cyst attatched to right ovaries and my womb which they removed.
My specialist was going to put me on clomid as planned after surgery but she said wait til next app jan 14th because she thinks I should have a BFP by then.

I need to know .. Do I still take my metformin as she not said anything about it lol
Also I still havent had my AF since surgery and tested BFN.. is this due to surgery messing my AF up lol

Hello!!

Wow you've been through quite a bit! Hopefully you're going in teh right direction now

You're probably still ok to keep taking the metformin if it's working for you. I am on my second round of clomid and have been given metformin to help it as the first round didn't work so yes alot of women are given both.

They should also give you provera to induce a proper bleed xx

thank you for replying .. yea i will still keep taking them then .. can I buy provera? I'm hoping to have AF very soon.. I'm having bad cramps ATM for past two days and feels like it coming from my left ovary .. I know as soon as I have a AF then i can start doing OPK because day after surgery I took one every day and used 13 OPK and nothing grr ...Put reading on here I noticed alot of people had BFP after lap an dye.

Hi just wanted to wish u luck with getting your BFP very soon. It's great news they found something they could do something about so its like you're starting ttc with a new slate. It mustve been so hard trying for so long. Got my fingers crossed for you x

Thank you so much sunnyland.. omg I know I have waited soooo bloody long to know what was wrong and that Im on the right road to ttc. I still worried through grr I dont know why .. but I just have most bad luck and nothing normally goes right for me and tbh I dont think me having the BFP is ever going to happen .. I think I have been trying sooo long I just think its not meant to be for me .. but I hope so bad I will be a mum soon .. I want it so much. xxxx

4 years has left me numb and I feel like I've lost a part of me and my personality. Guess that's the kids I always imagined and already loved that I now feel like I'm never going to meet. I am so happy (and hopefully you feel the same) that Ive found out about our fertility issues early (we are still so young!) and we have plenty of time to sort it out/go for treatment etc.

It'll happen for us both soon, I'm sure. Keep your chin up and it'll happen when you least expect it x

I totally agree with you on the personality .. I feel my broodyness has changed me in many ways and my out looks on bringing a child up and other peoples babys grr but omg you so right .. yes we are young .. i dont feel it mind haha but its still young ... I hope we both have our baby in 2014 .. would be the best!!
Thank you for that .. it has really cheered me up..

Wow what a journey. I just wanted to wish you the best of luck. I have been trying 16 months which is nothing compared to others but it has definitely changed me.

I think it doesnt matter how long ttc .. its all stressful and upsetting when there's a wall blocking you..
Im FX for us all and will all be popping out our babies in 2014 .. lol
you all will have to get me updated and I will do the same
