Help with dates!!!

Hey everyone, I am Dani new to this forum.

Well here is my situation and advice and helped need please.

Well I was late for my period, so I did a pregnancy test yesterday, I am still in shock now, as I never thought I could have kids. Anyway So I did the test and I am pregnant. I did the clear blue test which can tell you hiw far along you kinda are, which came up 3+ which on the packet it said I could be 5+ weeks!

So anyway on the Thursday 24th September I had sex and then a couple of days later I had a light period which mine are always light no different. So on Monday 28th I had a light period.

But I had sex with a "friend" on 19th September, so I would I know for sure with the dates etc who the father is for sure? As the dates are so close.

I have booked to go to the doctors today anyway.

Hi Dani, well I'm kind of in your boat.. Except my "friend" was before my LMP.. You are quite close together with the different partners.. The girls on here were very very helpful for me.. I am not so good with these kind of things but I didnt want to read and run as I know how it feels.. I will keep an eye on the post x

Hey thanks for the reply, well I am gong to the doctors today when I am not sure ill know how far gone I am then either.
Sorry for being thick but what does LMP mean?

Last menstrual period, don't worry it took me months to start to understand the language on pregnancy forums lol the doctor will more than likely calculate your estimated due date from your LMP date (lol) a more accurate date would be got from a scan x

Not neccessarily, as there are only 5 days between each partner, I don't want to say too much incase I'm saying the wrong thing but keep an eye on your post and I'm sure there will be some girls on soon who will be able to give you better information than I can.. x

it wil be tricky to work out which one is the father IMO as the dates are so close together that intercourse took place.

But you will have a clearer idea after your first scan with dates kind of thing.

Firstly welcome to Pregnancy Forum

Was it Monday 28th of September/October you had your last period?

Tbh I think this will be more than likely only determined through a dna test as the dates are so close although my bets would be on the lad you had sex with on the 19th. As your periods are so light anyway its really impossible to know whether that last period was a genuine period or an implantation bleed.

Your first scan will tell you how many weeks you are but they can be out about 1 week either way so it defintely wouldn't confirm paternity.

i agree, the only way to no for sure probably would be dna tests, but i think a dating scan will give you a more accurate idea

Yup, while the rule is - you take the date your last period started and (assuming a 28 day cycle) add 2 weeks this is probably your date of conception - unfortunately cycle lengths can vary, some women ovulate late or early, and as your periods are light your last period may have been implantation bleeding, so thats no help

your scan will give you a Xweeks Xdays age for the baby but as others have said these dates might be out by as much as a week so I wouldn't go by that to work out who the father is.
