Hi ladies,

I just wanna ask a lil question. Have any of u heard of or have a unicorn uterus?
I had all the fertility test done about 9 years ago and found out about mine but at the time i had broke up with my husband so i didn't go into it any further.
My oh and i have been to the fertility clinic and the consulatant was explaining all about it. I was just wondering if any else had the same or knows anyone who has concieved and had a normal pregnancy.

Good luck to u all xx

Hi Jem,
Sorry, I've not heard of it (but didn't want to read and run).
Did the consultant give you positive news? I have lots of faith in the wonders of modern science - I'm sure they'll do the best by you to help you concieve.

Best of luck Xx

Last year when we went we saw a junior and she was horrid. Kept telling me all the negatives but when we went back this year I saw my propper consultant and he was lovely. Oh chickened out last year so we had to be refered again. He has had is swimmers checked and they were "not quite normal" so is having to do another test. If they come back low again he is gonna refer us to someone who can do more. xx

Isn't it awful when you have to deal with someone horrid? It's stressful enough without having that on top.

At one of our first scans, the technician was so tactless, saying whose fault it was that we couldn't conceive. You'd think they know better, right!?? Grrrrr lol!

At least you're in the right hands now :-) Best of luck!
Xx

Hiya Jem,

Had never heard of it before - is it the same as a unicornuate uterus? - but it doesn't seem to completely rule out pregnancy.

The main implications seem to be ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, still birth and preterm labour - nothing to do with chance of conception.

A study showed that 50% of 300 women delivered a live baby, which might sound bad, but it means that if you persist on ttc that you should still end up with a healthy baby eventually.

If your husband has "not quite normal" sperm then i would guess that it is that which is impacting your chance of conception.

I hope your doctor can provide some more insight, but like Donna said, modern medicine will provide you with your baby one way or another :)
