Hi, everyone - hope you're all well. This is just a quick update. I've had all my initial tests - day 3 and day 21 bloods came back all normal. Hubby's sperm analysis was ok and my pelvic exam was ok, too. Had a call from my doctors this afternoon to book me in for my first hospital appointment at the fertility clinic - next Wednesday, would you believe. I can't believe how quick it came through.

My question is what is likely to happen at my first appointment? Will it just be a chat, or are they likely to do any scans? Also, I'm not sure if hubby should be coming with me - especially if they have to do any scans. Obviously he won't be allowed in for that? Sorry for all the questions - just a bit nervous, that's all xxx

Glad things are moving quickly along for you and your tests came back all ok.

I took my hubby with me on my first appt was good having his support as I was also very nervous.

I was prescribed clomid on my first appt, my GP had already diagnosed me as having pcos so I was able to start treatment straight away.

I would guess that your specialist would arrange for you to have a scan before starting you on any meds, you may even be able to do it on the day if your lucky.

My specialist doctor was really nice and helpful so try not to worry to much hun, its their job to help us xxxxxxx

Thanks, Vicky. I'm not sure whether I will go on meds. My tests showed my various hormone levels were all good and I am ovulating. I also have regular 28-day cycles. Would they put me on meds if my cycles, etc, were all ok?

Hi Hun,

Glad you're getting sorted quickly!

At my first appointment they asked a few questions and said they'd be putting me on Clomid, like you I have had good blood results but they asked if I'd had a smear, std swabs and an ultrasound I hadn't so they booked me appointments.

In my appointment they said they usually try Clomid before checking your tubes etc but I know some girls here have had either a laparoscopy or a HSG before getting treatment.

I made a post about Clomid so I'll bump it up so you can have a read.

How long have you been TTC for now?

xx

hey

So pleased all your tests came back ok.

You are the same as me. All my tests came back normal too and Hubby's and i too have a 28 day cycle, without fail!

When i had my first appt they booked me in for a laparoscopy, everything came back normal.

After that i was put on clomid.

Let us know how you get on hunni xx:dust:

Lots of luck hun! Hope you get your bfp soon!

Keep us updated!

Hey tract0rgirl, really glad things are moving quickly for you! :)
DH came with me to every hospital appointment, and they have always been totally fine about him coming in with me for all the scans. I think go with whichever feels right for you.
Wishing you the best of luck on Wednesday! xx

Thanks for all your support, girls. AF is due to arrive tomorrow and feeling a bit witchy at the moment so can't wait to get to Wednesday to move things on. I'll have a read about your clomid post, maybebaby. To be honest, I don't know alot about it. I need to do some research! We've been trying for about 16 months. As I'm 41, my clock is ticking a bit too fast now!

Great news that it's moving along quickly Tractorgirl!!

I'm off to see my doctor on Monday to start the refferal process to a clinic!
