Please can anyone let me know if their babies have experienced this. Leorah screams and has terrible pain whenever she poos. Its so bad that she claws her face and bit down so hard on her arm that she has two purple bruises from her gums.
We went to see the doc and she said she's not worried as she will probably grow out of it by 3 months though we have to add 3 weeks because she was early. She told us to go to the paediatric ward at the hospital though so we did and they wanted us in for observation for the night. Well what was the point? We were in a private room and nobody observed anything! The next day a doc came around whilst Leorah was screaming, I explained it had been going on for 55 mins on and off and I'd had to change her nappy 3 times. All they keep doing is feeling her stomach and have a listen to her through the stethoscope. I have explained that its not wind its actually the motion of trying to poo thats causing the pain but they don't listen! I am so upset, I hate seeing my daughter suffer like this. She can be fast asleep and then just be shrieking the next minute in pain and it goes on until she's managed to poo. They wanted us in for another night and said that I was to ring the bell everytime it happened and I said what so someone can watch and then nothing be done and they said nothing! I bought her back home where she can be cosy and we now have to see another doc on Tuesday. If they examined her thoroughly and then said we just have to wait it out I could accept it but noone is listening to what the problem is, they are just presuming its wind.
After the problems with medical staff not listening when I had OC in my pregnancy too I just feel so disillusioned with the system over here, its meant to be great but I prefer the NHS any day. When I bled at 19 weeks when in London the delivery ward was really busy and understaffed but they still examined me and scanned me to make sure all was ok. I am so upset I just feel like getting on a plane to England.
Please let me know if this is common because then maybe I can accept it but at the moment its breaking my heart to see my little baby suffer and not be able to do anything. I'm sorry its so long
