Handmade jewellery :)

Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone makes jewellery or phone charms as a hobby or a profession?

I have recently just started making them and I find it really interesting although it is very time consuming lol. If there is anyone out there who does this i think it would be a really good Idea to chat and share a little inspiration/Ideas?

I do

well I do most things crafty to be honest lol and I dont make as much jewellery now as I used to but I still do it now and then
I sell a lot of my stuff too (otherwise you get over run with all the things you have made lol)

not sure what inspiration I can share really, one thing I will say is I like to buy 'old' beads and random unique things to make the jewellery with, when I need a bead top up I do a charity shop trip or a car boot morning to buy old beaded necklaces and things like that, then I take them apart and use them to make new things.

and ebay is a good place to buy your findings from, most bead shops are a lot more expensive

Hey there,
I was beginning to think i was the only one who done this kind of thing lol. I have only just started out doing things like this so i am all new to it lol. I have been making phone/handbag charms and jewellery but im still learning.
Wow..... i must say the pictures that you have put up are pretty impressive, Hopefully one day i will be able to go to the extent. But like i say still learning at the minute lol. I also sell bits and pieces of mine, I really enjoy doing it, I have just recently been asked to make a Tiara for my OH's step sisters prom so i will be looking into things like that very soon. How long have you been doing things like this for?

sorry for the delay, I remember reading this and thought I replied......but I guess not lol

Hmm I have been doing it a fair few years now, thats probably why I have such a large collection of 'bits' built up
I actually have quite a pile of jewellery made that will need to find new homes soon lol, I find myself sat making things for no apparent reason and then I end up with a big pile of jewellery that I have no use for lol


I have to say tho I do love making myself jewellery to go with particular outfits and things, so its completely unique

i reckon you should have a go at doing a combined piece (like the pendant I posted above) so make lots of the single pieces like you have done in the past but combine them to make a larger piece
also let yourself go with the beads a bit, so dont use the same size etc, mix it up a bit and have fun wih it, you will find you can make some gorgeous things if you let your self go a bit

I do!!!! I also make cards invites wedding stationary celebration cakes and tower cakes!!! I love anything crafty too and love nothing better than a day in my craft room!

Hey N26 its really not as hard as you may think....just takes time patients and imagination....oh and a spare room and a never ending pot of money helps too as its addictive lol but sooo much fun xxx

He he he I went to the craft show at the nec and came back with bags full of new things to try out, it certainly is addictive, I love trying out all new things

Have a load of resin bits to try out now to make jewellery with, have done a couple of pendants so far but still perfecting the technique
