Hi girls,

I've just made my poster and stuck it on the front door with a bowl of treats on the doorstep so i don't get any nasty wakenings tonight (in the form of Jakey pops) hopefully!! If you want it pm me and i'll email it to you.

I'll be out trick or treating with my kids tonight but when I get back I'll make an "Under 10s only" sign. :)

I've already selotaped a sign to my porch door saying no trick or treaters baby in bed.

Grumpy cow I am

I don't think thats grumpy. I've seen signs up today "No Trick or Treaters" and I just think fair enough, rather have a sign than tell the kids off.

We only go to houses with pumpkins etc anyway, never knock on random doors. I'll be taking some pics in a bit :D

I've been to M & S this afternoon and bought some little nets of ghost chocs but I don't really want kids coming round. Don't really like the practice of asking strangers for treats - nothing against Halloween or anything.

...and I wouldn't mind the chocs for myself!! :rotfl:

shut the curtains and scoff em!

I gave to trick or treaters when i used to live in birmingham (no-one knocks where I live now cos I'm in the town centre) and I gave them a bag of sweets and chocolate bar (ish) each, and they looked at me like we want more... was that not reasonable?! meh when I went I would be grateful for a handful of penny sweets

Greedy buggers. Get what your given and be grateful!

I was never allowed to trick or treat when I was little. My parents were those that thought of it as begging. I now know obviously its not and when Isaac is older we will visit friends to do it, not strangers. Kinda goes against everything we teach them about approaching and talking to strangers otherwise I think.

yeah I agree, we only go down one road, behind the school and it's 90% of kids from the school so I don't mind.

yeah that sounds perfect. I wish I had done it when I was little, I bet its great fun for the kids. How did the party go urchin?

Great ta, I have loads of Halloween photos but am saving them till after tonight so I can post them all at once.

I normally open the door and love congratulating all the little ones (and their folks) on their ghoulish costumes but Jake's got a chest infection and i've got a cold and actually look like Morticia Addams myself now i come to think of it so hopefully i can trust them to take a handful of sweets and leave enough for everyone else hubby is away this week and thinks i'm nuts and that all the fatties will just kife the bowl!

We used to get teens in hoodies trying it on but hopefully they'll be out getting p*ssed in a bus shelter somewhere tonight as it's half term! Those were the days...

Oh this is the poem i used on the poster:
Please don't knock or ring,
There's a baby upstairs sleeping,
Help yourselves to lots of treats,
But remember no tricks please!

Look forward to seeing them. We had a Halloween / 1st year playgroup party today. Was really good and Isaac loved it. He's never been to a party before. Am thinking about his 2nd birthday now   :puke:

i knew i forgot something in asda today. I can't open the door all night now as got nothing to give them! I'm sure i won't be able to forget these important things/dates in a few years when this baby is running about!

gd idea juzza but think the first treaters are gonna take them all. our baby wont be sleeping till about 9.30pm well thats when shes due for a feed. i bought trick or treat bags from woolies a few weeks ago as they were selling them for like 80 odd p. ive actually spoilt the brats this year lol and if no-one comes we get the loot :)

Not doing anything with stephen as he just doesnt understand it, maybe next year :D

i have got chocolate eye ball for the kids this year but wont be letting Hannah do it when she is older, i do think its a bit cheeky to expect other people to buy your kids sweets but thats just me lol
