Had my first scan and Its good news! :D

Went to the hospital this morning for my scan, chated to a nurse for a few mins then went in for my scan. She explained that since i have irregular cycles that i could be put back a few weeks. She tried to do a belly scan and said she couldnt see anything so i had to either drink more water or have an internal. Id already drank for 2 hours before non stop so opted for internal. I went for a wee and sat in the dark weeping - i was so scared that there was no baby. She took me and hubby back into the room and we started the internal which wasnt uncomfortable or painful just embaresing.

So i was laid with my legs in the air and the lady just said 'so i can see baby' We were both really shocked!! She wouldnt let either of us see util she finished taking photos and checking the baby out. After 10 minutes she turned the screen to us and we sat looking at our baby WITH A HEART BEAT!!

I rushed my clothes on and went for another chat with the nurse who explained everything. Baby is measuring 9 weeks and 2 days so im a week behind what i thought i was. Its healthy, heart beat, in the right place. She said 'we dont get any better than that!' Im so excited!

I've got my internal tomorrow to check everything is ok - how undignified is it? I need to mentally prepare myself for whats going to happen...

Well this was my second and both have been the same. They ask you to go behind a curtain and take your lower clothes off and come out with a blanket wrapped round you. The you lay down and open your legs. My first scan was by a male and he poked round without looking but today i had a women and she 'opend me' to see where to aim Then after you go behind the curtain again to get dressed. It isnt painful though you can hardly feel anything. Its more uncomfortable than anything. I just hope i never see that women ever again
