Hi there

I just need a little reassurance as have been having sharp pains in my pelvis, especially when I move. Doppler is picking up baby's hb, so I'm thinking all must be fine, but just wondered if any other had experienced this kind of pain?

Thanks :) xxx

I was still getting mild cramping low down up til about 18 weeks, now I am getting mild sharp stabbing! I think it is just the uterus growing, and what is called 'round ligament pain'. Some women feel these 'growing pains' , other don't.

xx

^^ WSS.. :D
Also, when I walk, I get sharp 'stitch' like pains down either side of my bump and low down.. I think it's just bump stretching/baby laid in an awkward position..
I'm sure everything is absolutely fine! Especially as you're picking up the heartbeat

xx

I've had pain on occasion since hitting Tri 2, and the lo and behold the next day my belly has expanded a little bit more

xxxxxxxxxx

I get the annoying stitch pain after Ive been walking around a bit, Ive started to ignore most twinges now instead of panicking like I used to :) xxx

Thanks ladies :)

Just found this on the internet too :
"Ligament Aches

During the third or fourth month of pregnancy, women frequently get a sharp stabbing pain in their groin or to one side. It may come on at sudden intervals, might be worse if you suddenly get up, stretch or move and it might disappear then reappear a few days later. It can be really worrying to suddenly get pains like this, but usually it's due to the ligaments or muscles around your uterus in your pelvis stretch and thicken as they support your growing baby"

This pretty much describes my aches and with youjr reassurances I'm gonna try not to worry (it's hard tho' - am a natural born worrier!) Got mw appointment on Thursday, so will talk to her about it then too....

Thanks everyone :love:xxx

^^ What she said :) x

I get three types of pains and I reckon I know what they all are.

Cramping, like mild period pain, is the uterus expanding and contracting, during growth periods or say after orgasm (my mild cramps sometimes last several hours after!)

A surface soreness, a bit like if you've done lots of sit ups, often when reaching up or stretching - I call these my stretchy pains - is the muscles etc in the abdomen stretching to accommodate baby and the bump getting bigger.

The sharp pain, especially when I sneeze or cough, is round ligament pain.

I think all of these are normal.

i got them pains at about 14/15 weeks.. they were so painful i couldnt move but didnt last long.. everything was fine xx

Yep! Since the. Night before last i've been getting sharp pains in my back/pelvis area which come and go and range in how much they hurt! Sometimes it's agony but a quick massage on the spot from OH seems to do the trick :) I guess it's all normal and stuff we have to put up with now eh?
Let's hope it eases off soon, good luck ladies!

I get them too especially when getting up too fast. They ease off quickly though.

The niggle that drives me mad at the moment is my pelvic area feeling heavy, its just so uncomfortable and nothing eases it.

Hope your round ligament pains arent too bad. x

Saw the mw today and she said it was all fine too, so not worrying now :) I think it was just when they first started they worried me, but now I know they're normal, I'm not gonna worry! Just a another pregnancy niggle to put up and hopefully it means my bump will be growing a bit more soon!!

Thanks everyone!! :) xxx

I get lower pelvis cramping off and on a few times a week but not as much as i did earlier. 26 weeks now and feeling her moving like mad so not ever worried anymore. The ligament pain is the worse tho it gets deep in my hip sockets and up the side of my belly. I got a pregnancy belt from mother care and it helps alot

I was really getting those pains around 15/16 weeks, they're still there just different now. Definitely less excruciating though, I can turn over in bed without being in agony :yay:
Itll all be worth it in the end!! Xx
