Even if you hate them and your dentist is evil...
I had a filling that needed replacing a couple of years ago, but my dentist was a really nasty piece of work so I stopped going to check-ups because I didn't want to see him.
Well, the filling came out, then tooth started comming away and the root started getting a little infected so I eventually had to go to the dentist (a new one though) and am now in the middle of root canal treatment. (Appt was this morning)
It hurts
alot I was crying my eyes out in the chair because the dentist hit my nerve - he then had to inject the nerve to numb it which fecking hurt so much I screamed out 
thankfully he has removed most of the nerve so it shouldn't hurt so much the next time I go but fooking hell - I wish I had got the filling sorted straight away!
Lesson Learnt - don't make the same mistake as me
