Getting to know each other better

I've already told my sister I'll be a surrogate for her :) I really enjoyed pregnancy and I honestly couldn't think of anything better than to give my sister the child she so wants. I really don't think I'd have a problem giving her the baby after either as I would always see the child and it would just be amazing seeing how happy they would be! I have said I want another child myself and I wouldn't want it to be half mine. It would have to be through IVF and biologically completely their baby. I think it's great so many people are considering it! I've also started to think about egg donation. Anything to help others I guess lol.

This is gonna sound wayyyy stupid so forgive me but how do they get your eggs out? X

Its a big deal really involving anethetic and injecting yourself everyday for so long, such a brilliant thing for someone to do! Anyone who does that i really admire xx

Lovely idea

Im Becci, im 29 years old, OH is 22, we welcomed our first child Sofia on her due date (!!) at 17.17pm on the 17th april lol, i breastfed for 9 days and unfortunately am unable to carry on, was getting depressed and baby was feeling it, am battling massive feelings of failure atm but my beautiful girl seems to be happier and more satisfied so I am trying not to bet myself up about it, after all she had the best bit. Am still not really feeling myself and we are still getting to know her.

I work as a holiday sales manager for park resorts and am taking my 9 months off :)

xxxx
Hi Becci, it sounds to me like you're a fantastic mum and not a failure at all for being able to rejoice in your little girl's happiness when you are feeling down yourself. Are you getting any help for your depression? I hope you feel better soon!!

At 14 weeks pregnant, I found from a CVS performed in Harley street that Ella had downs syndrome. Initially I worried. Then I get my head around it, but was concerned about what I may be faced with when she arrived!
Once Ella arrived, she has made me realise that infact it really isn't something to be scared of! She is absolutely amazing! I am completely smitten!!!
Fantastic! She's one lucky little girl to have such a wonderful mum!

Good to see such a nice thread! Just realised there really are a lot of Dec/Jan/Feb/Mar mummies here!
I'm Natalie, I'm 27 and OH is 33. We live in West Kent, noticed a few other ladies are also from Kent.
I'm an Accountant, I qualified last year while pregnant with my DS who is now 6 months old.
I don't post much but I'm usually floating around while I'm breastfeeding. I've found this forum so helpful, I have had hardly any support from the real world with my pregnancy or since lo arrived so love the fact you ladies offer so much advice xx

Fab thread!

My name is Jemma, I'm 28 and gave birth to my beautiful daughter Isla 3 weeks ago on 9th April. She was 13 days overdue so I was induced, had episiotomy and ventouse delivery.

I'm only able to afford to be off work for six months so go back to my job as a business manager for my local primary care trust at the beginning of Oct. My husband is 33 years old and a dental technician, we have been married 2 years in May.

Isla is just fab, I tried BF but my milk didn't come in so we are now FF but very happy :-) xx

Lovely idea :)

I'm Rachael, 24 from the West Midlands. I've been with my OH Steve for 2 years but have known each other for 10 years from school. We now have a beautiful daughter Phoebe who's nearly 5 months and is teething atm :( poor little thing. We currently live in a 2 bed rented house but were looking to move a bit later in the year.
My OH works full time at the NEC in Birmingham he helps set up events like lighting and internet access etc. Its pretty cool cos he meets a few celebs and gets us cheap tickets :D. I work part time at a mobile phone shop, I'm due back in July but really don't want to go back :(.
Ooh we also have a cat called Claude, he's very mischievous! When I get any spare time I enjoy fashion, drawing and going out with friends xx

Love this thread, have been reading it for a while but finally got round to getting on the laptop - usually I read pf on my phone whilst feeding and I'm not very good at typing on my phone - there would be also sorts of strange words popping up due to autocorrect!

I'm Rachel, 28 from Kent. I work for Kent County Council but am currently on maternity leave. My husband is 28, works in insurance and we got married in December 2010 - I was 2.5 hrs late because of the snow!

I gave birth to our lovely Dylan James on 26 Feb and he weighed 8lb 10.6 oz. I didn't have a birth plan but when I was at the mw led birth ctr I knew I wanted to get in the pool! I was 4cm at 1am and he made his apprearance at 6.25am. I had gas and air for a few hrs and then the took it off me for the pushing part (mean!) which took about 40 mins. He pooed in the last hr so although my waters were clear when they broke, meconium came out with his so they whisked him off for some oxygen etc and a check over but he was fine. Such an amazing (and messy!) experience.

He's a chubby little man and at one point was putting on 10oz a week! I am EBF and finally in the last week or so we have settled into a better routine - he now goes 3 to 4 hrs rather than every 2 hrs - except in the evenings where he wants to be permanently attached to the boob!

I don't post that often (typing issues!) but come on here daily to catch up - and try to post when I have some advice etc, but usually everything I know has always been said by others!

Anyway, pf has been invaluable so fa - so thank you ladies!

Also - turns out I can't type that well on the laptop either!!

^^ Alice pooed in her waters too scary isnt it!! I hated it i could tell by the look on there faces i had to get her out now, helped me push tho, they never took the gas and air off me dont think they dare lol xx

Loving this thread. I'm Lauren, 22 married to my lovely OH who is in the forces :) I was extremely lucky as I only started ttc in Jan last year and I was pregnant by Feb. Angel was born at 41+1 by emergency section. I'd had an epidural and a general; I had this because I went into a panic when her heart rate started dropping. I bf for the first 10 days or so and felt unable to continue as I was having problems with her latching on and there was absolutely no bf support. Plus I was physically and emotionally exhausted and I felt it was best for us both if I switched to ff. At the time I felt a massive failure and I remember crying for days. I'm working through some issues relating to PND at the moment :) I was Assistant Manager at Holland + Barratt but it was only a temporary contract which came to an end when I went on maternity. We are due for a posting in Feb 2013 and my maternity pay ends next month, I'd like to go back to work but I don't know if I am ready or brave enough to leave Angel :P When we get posted I plan to go back to education and study to be a counsellor :)

Great thread & my first post over here lol

My name is Nicola, I'm 25 and gave birth to my beautiful daughter Abigail Millie 5 days ago on 28th April weighing 9lbs 10z. Lovely thread,

Hi I'm Christine, I'm 37 (ugh) hubby is 46 we have 4 kids, all boys! and there is a big age gap too. My oldest son just turned 18 this month and is off to UNI in September, number 2 turned 16 in April, number 3 will be 13 in December and our little Jake just turned 7 months. I've been with my hubby 20 years and will be married for 18 years in August, Jake was a surprise baby as I was on the pill and was taking antibiotics and fell pregnant, I had no intention of having any more but I wouldn't change that for anything now but I wont be having any more lol having such a big gap since my last baby, left me feeling like a first time mummy all over again, I guess that sounds weird but you do forget a lot of stuff and I'm not getting any younger ;)

Hi  Im Jenna, 23 from a small town in Scotland where I live with my OH who is also 23 we have been together for over 6 years, we have one beautiful child our baby boy Callum:love: & 2 yorkie fur babies xx
