Hello,

I just read Chrissies post and it made me feel sad that someone feels unsupported.

I know some folk on here from ttc and the tri's but not everyone. Thought it might be nice to introduce ourselves to one another and get to know each other better.

I'm Olive, 28. My lo Brody is 15 weeks (eep!) today. He was born on fri 13th  of Jan by c section after a failed induction (I was due 16th but had high no and puppp). I'm ff. I wanted to bf but my milk didn't come in until I got out of hospital and pumped and he didn't latch at all. After much frustration and tears I turned to ff and punished myself but am ok with it now. Erm, what else.

I work in hr an hope to take the full year off if loss and go back part-time (love not to go back tbh) but am playing it by ear as the company my OH works for is going through administration :wall2: so we're hoping all will be ok.

What about you?

Xx

That's a good idea, Olive! :)

I'm Susanne, and I'm 35. I have 3 children: Leila (9), Jakob (7) and now little Samira, who will be 17 weeks old this Sunday and was born on New Year's Day. Labour was ok, but the birth itself somewhat dramatic, so still getting over that a bit, but we're getting there. I'm bf, even though it's been quite a battle from day 1, initally due to not latching properly and very sore nipples etc, and now because Samira is struggling with silent reflux, so feeding times are anything but lovely for either of us.

I am also taking a full year off and am absolutely dreading going back to work, will go as much part time as possible. Can't seem to stop thinking and worrying about work, either, which really annoys me after all this time and with so much time still to go :wall2: - anyone else experiencing this?

Looking forward to reading more about the rest of you ladies!

Fab idea Hun!

Well I'm Louise, I'm 23 and OH is 29. We have been together for 3 years and have a beautiful daughter called Harlow who is 11 weeks old.

Im work as a Buyer and am due to go back to work in 12 weeks! Eek!! It's going so fast!!

I understand people are a little wary of others on here recently so if anybody wants my Facebook feel free to PM me!

Great thread Laura

I'm Emma, i'm 27, my little boy Harry was born on 27th March, 5 days over due, had a great birth experience and very short labour. We are BFing and really loving it now milk supply has settled. i'm a nurse but going to be a stay at home mum for the next year at least, maybe more :) my OH is a self employed joiner and we live in scotland.

xx

That's fantastic, how exciting!

I'm 28 from Teesside and my little critter Matilda is 4 weeks on Sunday. I live with my hubby who I have been married to for 5 years in August. He is 27.

My pregnancy wasn't planned as such (long story) so I didn't have a ttc journey. I was very lucky to have conceived twice very easily. Sadly I miscarried the first time.

I work as a chartered accountant in local government and my oh is a self employed joiner. We enjoy travelling and the great outdoors and like to ski and mountain bike. I am a skyride leader and play netball in my spare time (well I did anyways)

I'd like to have 9 months off but it depends on OHs job really

I have found the last 4 weeks really tough for a range of reasons. I am desperate to breastfeed and have managed so far though I am very close to switching.

My birth story still terrifies me after a really long labour and her getting stuck

hey im hugsy 28 and 36 months :) Kayla is 8 weeks on Sunday and was born on the 4th of march 48 minutes before my due date, im irish but living in the isle of man the last 3 years so have no family around to help out
Im also hoping to go back to work part time but might not have a job at all come June as like everywhere else they have to cut back,,

eh not sure what else hmmm i love chocolate n crisps waaayyy too much lol

great idea Olive. i just caught you in the tri's as you were always just moving up or on when i went in :)

im Bev, 30 years old, my lg Alyssa was born on 10/3/12 naturally after a stressful day of labour lol. i combi feed cos ive had lots of trouble bf'ing but im too stubborn to give up.

i live in north wales, near Rhyl and its really pretty but wet a lot. i overuse the word lol, love to read fiction, fantasy or scifi books and watch the same sort of movies. im a bit of a gothic gal and love black things, corsets, metal or rock music and going to gigs. i was fairly obsessed with Anne rice's vampire chronicles as a teen. ni work as a support worker for disabled ppl when im not on maternity leave. i dabble in art and tattooing. i love animals.....gosh im running out of things to put lol.
ooh i try to be very friendly and will always try to help anyone if i can but ive been badly used by so called friends in the past so im unsure of peoples motives a lot. im socially awkward and a bit odd and very logical.

oh and Daniti if you read this i think we have a common aquaintance in a girl called heather who lives in wrexham. shes with one of the impaled existance guys, drummer i think. i remember her saying one of her friends was pregnant at the battle of the bands for bloodstock last year. so if it is you then i think we live fairly local to each other and if you ever want to hang out or go for a cuppa or just visit then you only have to let me know and we can arrange it. i have a bit of a problem initiating things like hang outs or meet ups as im a bit frightened of intruding on others lives or making a nuisance of myself. i always feel like im being a pest or bothering ppl lol

I know how you feel, I've felt the temptation of the bottle every day since she was born! I take it one day at the time, and now she's almost 4 months old. :dance:See how you get on day by day, every day that you have managed to bf her is a day that nobody can take away from either of you ever again, so even if you do end up switching to ff at some point you can be proud of every single day you have persevered. And if you switch, it's not the end of the world either, motherhood is about so much more than method of feeding!

 Im lorna, my LO Georgia was born on 22 of feb, a week early after a pretty fast labour. I bf but have to use nipple shields as madam won't latch to me!

I work as a carer for young adults with profound multiple learning disabilities, although my boss is trying to convince me to apply to go back as admin support.

I love country music, and line dancing. And was out dancing the night before I went into labour.

Fab thread olive!

I'm Traci, 27 and my Alice is 6 months today!!! Labour and birth was a bit traumatic but not as bad as it could have been and I'm very thankful for that. I bf for 12 weeks but had to switch to ff as my milk dried up. I'm loving every second of being a mummy and dreading going back to work in 5 weeks.

Hi am Katie , am 24 and am from Liverpool my LO was born on the 24/01/2012 and is 13 weeks old. Am due to go back to work in September ( going back part time) and I work in the hotel industry in the sales department.

I love reading and love crappy reality tv programmes lol

Good Idea

I am Laura, 29 from Bristol. My LO is Orlando and He was born on new years day at 4.12pm weighing 6lb10oz! Our miracle after 3 losses!

I am married to James who is 33 .

I work as a radiographer but am currently on maternity leave

Avid football fan! Support Bristol city fc :)

hello I'm Clare...

my little girl Hannah was born on the 23rd Feb after almost 3 days in established labour. It was the most horrific experience of my life to date she was eventually 'dragged' out of me with forceps after 3 failed ventouse attempts, no contractions and a failed epidural (so no pain relief)....needless to say I am still traumatised but she is just adorable...

she was in special care for a week due to the trauma...bless her. I am still not recovered physically from the labour and the episiotomy and am going to have to have surgery to put everything right...but anyway..

When I am not being a mummy, I am a Mortgage Specialist and have advised on mortgages since I was 18...and as I am now 36..it's quite a while!!

I got married in November last year to my soul mate who I met in january 2009 after years of wastign my time with knobheads! ha ha

I can aso sing anf used to be in bands etc....and have also sang my cousin down the aisle at her wedding and my auntie. I live up in the Lake District and it's lovely....woudlnt want to live anywhere else!

I'm becky, 23, sleep deprived, and have the light of my life Tyler who is 16 weeks old. Was very reluctant to get pregnant at first due to my age and situation (not quite found a job to settle in, still looking for my niche!) and came off the pill stupidly thinking it would take years. It didn't so it was all a bit of a shock and I threw a few wobblies but it is safe to say that I have found the best job in the world! My OH even said to me last night I'm the happiest he's ever known me! I've turned into a total hippy since having Tyler with bfing, wanting to BLW, baby massage etc lol I never ever thought that would happen to me. I was so unsure about how I would feed him when he was born and very very nearly ff as id had a 4 day induction ending in an emergency c sec and I was exhausted but bfing was the best thing I did. I'm passionate about people getting the right support with feeding and parenthood in general (as I'm noticing not enough of us had totally infuriates me!) gone off on a total tangent here! Looking forward to baby number 2 but that'll be a few more years. I'm constantly on here as bfing gives me a free hand lol!

Oh yeah and I normally work in a golf club as the general managers secretary and I'm on maternity leave for a year, we probs won't be able to afford for me to go back (yay!)

Great idea :) I'm Hannah, I'm 24 an live in the south east of England by the sea!!!! I had my son Theo 4 weeks ago this Sunday (April fools baby!) and I am breastfeeding! He was a chunky 9lbs 9oz and still isn't back up to his birthweight yet which is disheartening me a lot, but I am still persevering with the BF as he Is a happy content baby and I figure if he wasn't getting enough milk he'd be screaming the house down!

I qualified as a midwife in September and I absolutely love it! I am off until next January which is good, because I had such a traumatic birth the thought of ever being in a hospital again scares the life out of me right now!
