:oooo:

ok im getting a little scared now by the prospect of giving birth! The whole way through this pregnancy the thought hadnt really bothered me and even watching OBEM was fine!

However ever since i was taken in to hospital the other week and talks of inducing me stated im actually starting to freak!

Im so excited to know ill get to have him early and i dont have to wait so long but then im like.... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I know what happens and have read up on it and stuff but i can just feel myself starting to freak out!

Im 19! i should be able to cope but..... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Have any of you other girls similar age or not felt like this?? and how'd you deal with it... :/

I know where you are comning from - ive been laid back the whole way through, just taking it all in my stride.....
However, since I had the 4d scan, and actually saw what our little girl will look like, I can now start to imagine her here!
Also, im having to go for a growth scan next week, and she is looking like she has no intention of moving into position - so now im worried about complications, and the stuff that could go wrong, rather than before, when I was looking forward to labour!

But I suppose if they are talking about inducing you, then it must feel weird!!! But so exciting - your little one will soon be here!

I would imagine that this is a natural process of thinking, and when it comes to crunch time, adrenalin kicks in - I hope!
xx

I don't think it's an age thing - I'm 30 and am feeling exactly the same! It's all starting to be one very real!!!! X

I dont think its an age thing either, Im 40 and shitting myself

Yep I don't think its an age thing either, I'm 30 this year. I'm getting a bit scared now too, I think its natural to be nervous and a bit scared too. Its really exciting but bound to be nerve wracking

I'm 19 too! I'm so scared, as we all are!! I'm able to deal with it, because well, we have to deal with it, labours going to happen soon for all of us whether we like it or not! And it'll all be forgetten when it's over and we have our beautiful babies! Have some faith in your ability to deal with the situation when the time comes, you'll do great girl! As we all will. It's a massive thing to deal with, but you will cope :) xx

I go through stages of being massively excited and not being able to wait to absolutely crapping myself!!

I have a ridiculously low pain threshold so im not quite sure how im going to cope with labour but at the same time im a very stress free calm person so im hoping that will work in my favour! x

I'm 18 and crapping it, trying not to think about it and just think I will be in the hands of professionals so all will be fine, can't help but think if I am going to cope with the pain or not :| x

I'm 38 and can't deny that the closer I get to birth the more scared I am - I've always been in denial about it but now it is fast approaching! I read this thread here, started by FlexiLexi and I must say it is really helping me http://www.pregnancyforum.co.uk/labour-birth/176857-such-shame-labour-feared-thing.html - almost everyone has really positive experiences of labour, even those who had a difficult time!

In the next few weeks I am really going to try to adjust my fearful attitude to one of embracing the whole thing as a natural process that produces the most amazing reward at the end :) xxx

I was 19 with my 1st and i wsa totally nieve i put labour to the back of my head and never dealt with it so your doing better than me, when i say back of my mind when my waters started leaking i hadn't even pcked a bag, infact my mum had to take me shopping to buy nappies sanitry towels, breast pads, i didn't have hardly anthing, i literally thought if i dont think about it, it wont happen lol. glad to say it was ok and have gone on to have more, I am 34 now and now i panic when i know I am getting nearer I cant wait to have my baby but knowing that i have to go through labour is still dauntin.

Well just to let you know it IS possible to have a good labour and I'll go as far as to say I enjoyed giving birth to Reshaun. It was such a progressive gradual labour I was able to deal with the pain. Even when it did get a bit much (this happened after a got out of the hospital bath as it made the contractions subside while in then came back with a vengeance after) I just had a shot of pethadine and took it all in my stride!

There's not many things that I would say I'm proud of myself for but the way I had him was one of them. No tears, grazes or stitches either. It can happen for other people if t happened for me and the thought of what u get at the end is obviously amazing!

Hope second time round is just as manageable for me. Xxx

well girls i am starting to come to terms with it... and i want to try and make sure everything is ready as the hospital can turn around anyday now and say they want to induce! :)

I think the labour as a whole isnt the thing thats scaring me. its more the final pushing bit...

Ah i know its the shortest it and everyone has to do it and some do it better than others and its not gunna kill me but im a sucker when it comes to pain! Seriously PERIODS are my worst enemy!

Thanks Amanda! Gunna read through that thread now... FlexiLexi! Oh you got to love her! xx:lol:

Im 23 and as the time got nearer to me giving birth, I was absoloulty bricking it and was panicking that i wouldnt be able to cope with the pain etc. From my waters breaking to me having a forcep delivery 28 hours later, its suprising where all your strength and your ability to cope comes from. Trust me when the time comes, you will cope the best you can without even really thinking about it xxx

im 20 and survived it on just gas and air for a short while! its bloody scary not knowing what to expect but youll be surprised at how natural it comes and your body just does its thing! you WILL be fine. promise.
