Gaviscon?

Im currently suffering horrible heartburn and im not sure if its ok to take gaviscon or do i need to check with midwife?
Is there anything else that would help?

It was prescribed to me but i nearly vomited, it wasso gross. I have rennie in my bag

Gaviscon's fine but presonally I prefer rennie which is also fine xx

I didnt think of rennies. I hate the taste of gaviscon so will deffinatly buy some rennies tomorrow. Thank you

Gaviscon is fine to use! I got it prescribed to me to.. Its my new best friend!

Gaviscon and rennie tablets have stopped working for me!! I'm on tums! They don't really do much either but taste ok!

Just picked up a bottle from the doctors today, plus you get it free on priscription. It stops my heartburn but nearly makes me throw up lol!

Hey, I am using Gaviscon; I got told Rennie was fine sometimes? But not to regularly.. where as if you are suffering regularly; then Gaviscon is deemed safe... but then I never know with these health warnings anymore.. I tend to use Gaviscon, the fluid at home and tablets when out I get it on precription.. I don't like the stuff particularly, but it works.. xx

i am such an idiot - i BOUGHT gavisocon the whole way through and then realised i could have gotten it on prescription! doh! I used to carry some everywhere. lifesaver. Then, about 2 weeks ago, i suddenly stopped getting any heartburn - it's when i realised baby must have dropped.

if its really really bad your dr can prescribe you a tablet called Ranitadine (think thats how you spell it)
my FIL is on it as he has to take loads of meds since his brain injury, but MW at anti-natal told a lady there she could get it from her dr! so if its really really bad, see if they will give you that or something similar! x

i tried gaviscon the other day and nearly puked up! They were the strawberry flavoured tablets, yuk! So now i just put up with the heartburn xx

I tried liquid gaviscon - made me puke. Strawberry chewable gaviscon - made me puke . And gaviscon advance as I was desperate- couldn't even chew and swallow it. I'm on tums Which don't have that horrible flavour or chalky taste ! They help a small amount but even my midwife said it's likely there's no hope for me until baby is here!! oh well xx

Have any of you heard that heartburn in pregnancy means your baby has lots of hair! Lol is this true? I was a baldy baby til I was 3 so am praying this wee one has more hair than I started out with!

Yup you can take gaviscon, I can't stand it though and taking Rennie's instead, there prob not as good but I can't stand gaviscon... makes me feel worse! lol x

My child is going to have a full head of thick locks of hair then the amount of heartburn I've had!!! Lol
