ok.. now i know this is stupid.. but i just have to get it off my chest (shut it squiglett) ok.. now.. even though i have massive boobs.. they are usless..i have flat nipples and they are inverted.. meaning

its stressing me out because i really want to feed..but my nipples are abnormal..charlotte couldnt latch on.. so what are the chances of this one being able to? makes me feel really sad, im trying to be postive about it,, ive bought a good breast pump, nipple sheilds and a nipplette.. just i feel useless..

Lots of people have inverted nipples, I'm sure with the sheilds baby will be able to feed fine

Seriously though, Be positive hun... my friend successfully breast fed her little girl for a few months and she had inverted nipples... I'm sure she used the nipplette things... She only had to stop because her daughter got sick and her milk dried up while she was in hospital.. But she was very vigourous with the whole getting her nipples uninverted (is that a word??) I'll see if I can get any info when I next speak to her... (it might be a wait, being international calling etc.. )

Plus don't let the whole breast is best police get to you... There are millions of babies raised on formula milk and they are happy, healthy children. So even if you can't breast feed in the end it shouldn't make you feel useless...

Talk it over with your midwife too...and call the NCT as they will have details of breast feeding groups in your area and you can go along now, and have a chat about it...I'm sure you will find many women who have inverted nipples and they will be the best people to give you advice.

im not letting the breast is best stuff get to me (p.s u n midna are as bad as each other.. plus u n ur sex fetish)

anyway i really really want to feed this time.. coz of cost mostly lol.. and jsut coz i want to..ive found a few pages that say to exercise the nipple in the last tri.. after 30 weeks..and to hand express the last weeks i suppose its just a wait n see thing? depresses me though. makes me fel a little bit.. un womanish gah!

how funny not laughing at you...I just clicked on the link as i think i may have the same problem. mine aren't always inverted and do come out but wanted more info...anyhow my comp froze and i'm at work on that site. had to make sure i got a female IT person on the phone.


Im sure you will be ok, there are things out there to help us now. x

mine come out when im cold or aroused lol... and they arnt totally flat.. but when i do the pinch test they go in...not out

Try contacting the LaLeche League, they run local groups (clicky) and they will be able to offer you support and advice, both befoer and after birth.

Don't feel useless, there should be a solution and if there isn't you have done your damnest to find one and no mum can do anymore then that
