its rubbish!!!!.... I measured at 38 weeks... 33cm... the midwife said if I hadn't had a scan a few days before showing everything was fine then she would have been worried...they estimated lil miss would be about 3.5kg at birth (via scan and fundal height) and she was over 4kg (just shy of 9lbs) so ..... 
its rubbish...I reckon its just something for the midwives to do...and some women just carry big/small, so its very unreliable. 
I'm not small either.. 5ft6 66kg size 7 feet... but I dont carry much water with either baby...except in my face, hands and feet
