Just had my mw appointment this morning and it was the same one as last time who is a little bit off and just does everything as quickly as she can.

She said all was fine - urine, BP, baby 2-3/5ths engaged, waved the tape measure at me and I was out the door.

Got home and looked at my notes and realised she'd put down that I was 36 weeks, not 38 weeks and measured me at 36cms...

I phoned her up when I saw this and she just said it was probably fine and due to baby moving down a bit more and that the fundal height measurement can be 2 cms out. I don't think she measured me properly and just put 36 as she thought I was 36 weeks!

Anyway, she said I could go back next week at 39 weeks to be measured again instead of waiting another 2 weeks but now I'm just worrying :(

I have been weighing and measuring my waist every week and they are still increasing so hopefully nothing to worry about.

I know the fundal measurement can be inaccurate but that doesn't stop me worrying!!

aww dont worry hun. I hate crappy midwives ! Ive met a couple !! Can u not have a go at measuring ur bump yourself ? I have done it a couple of times. Just to put ur mind at ease .x

Thanks LucyLu... I've had this mw a couple of times and when I saw her this morning my heart sunk!

DH measured my bump when I got home and he reckons it was about 38cm but it's hard to know where the top of the fundus is...

Not much I can do but wait another week and try not to worry!

It is difficult to know isnt it but I understand what you mean about sometimes them not even seeming like they measure it properly ! I thought all midwives were gonna be nice but there is definitely one or two knocking about that just dont even seem interested ! ahhh well Im sure everything is fine with ur bubs ! Can u believe they will be here soon ? Its getting soooo exciting isnt it ? x

Can't believe it - I'm very excited/scared!

Just want it to happen now so I can stop worrying if the baby is ok and how bad labour might be! Can't believe I could still be pregnant for another 4 weeks if I go overdue!

Dont worry - at my 31 week appt I was measuring 28 weeks - so 3cm small and the midwife wasnt worried said that its only a guide and its when the difference is more than 3cm that they would consider a scan so 2cm is no probs.
I just looked at my notes from 2 weeks ago and realised that mw had written I was 3/5 palpable which means 2/5 engaged :) she didnt tell me this just said baby was lower, not that he/she was engaging! I'm being overseen by a team of midwives so always a different one but they are all nice but v quick with checks etc, never quite leave feeling 100% about whats going on.
But the way I try and look at it is that if their not worried and only have to do the basics then it means that the pregnancy is going well. Bring on the babies :)

Hey,

I was going to PM you as I remember you had been measuring small a few weeks back.

I know what you mean about feeling that you don't always know exactly what's going on!

I'm seeing the mw again next week so will try not to worry all week!!

Thanks
