Hey

So I was just wondering if anyone with multiple babies could share their experience with fundal height measurements and actual babys weight?

My bump has measured 1 to 2 weeks ahead and we'll above the 90th centile my entire pregnancy. As I'm now 39 wks I'm a little worried about how big baby is going to be. I had a 9lb 1oz baby several years ago and struggled to birth him, ended up with an emergency c-section.

I know the fundal height measurement isn't an exact science but how close to accurate was it for you? Xx

Both mine measured behind by the end and both were classed as below average weight, my eldest being significantly small for me.
This one is 2 weeks behind now after measuring bang on.
Got growth scan on Thursday, was 75th centile at 28 weeks

My bub is on the 95th percentile and I’ve only had my bump measured once.

As far as I know it’s all just an estimate. At one of my growth scans the US tech measured the baby’s leg but didn’t use a quality imagine and so the leg was plotted as small but then 2 weeks later was in line with everything else. It really depends on the images they use and how accurate they can be I think. Even then it’s just a guesstimate.

My bump was always measuring ahead too - 90th percentile plus for the whole time too. My son was a week late so i was expecting a whopper but was 8lb 4oz. I dont think the tape measure thing can be that accurate but the chart in my notes was scaring me saying 10lb+ based on fundal height xx

My fundal height always measured 1cm behind my number of weeks eg at 38 weeks I measured 37cm, never got referred for a growth scan or anything midwife wasn’t concerned, my baby girl was born at 40+5 weighing 8lb 9oz x

My fundal height was slightly behind from 31 weeks. It stopped getting bigger as baby started dropping. At 39 weeks my fundal height was 33cm. My baby was 6lb 6oz, small, but not tiny. It’s inaccurate, especially after 35 weeks when they start to move down. Some babies will sit a long way forward or back in your pelvis and that is going to impact your fundal height too x

Mine was always about right. Never measured bigger. But he was 2 weeks overdue. Also an. Whopper at 9lb 4oz ... I’m only a size 8 !! So worried my next baby will be big as like u I had a awful first delivery.
