Hey I didn't actually have either but they spent 45 minutes trying to give me one to stitch me up. They failed and I've just been left in a lot of pain. My back keeps cracking around where they tried to do it and it almost feels like I'm being punched there repeatedly. Is that normal? :eh: Any advice on making it easier? Thanks xx

Hmmm dont remember that feeling, but I did have a section so couldn't bend properly for a few weeks. I also visited a chiropractor every couple of weeks so she no doubt fixed me! See how you feel and mention it to the mw when she visits x

I didn't have one hun but a few of my friends have complained about their backs after having an epidural, it will take time for you to get back to normal but if it doesn't improve speak to your MW or HV x

I had major back problems after mine, it throbbed for about two weeks none stop and then I just had random backaches. Maybe it's just from the bruising, I remember being bruised in tgat area years ago and it felt a bit like that. Definitely mention it to the midwife and see if it eases up any over the next few days

I got shooting nerve pains up my back for a coupleof weeks but then they stopped

I had the cracking and was in a lot of pain wih mine...they first tried to insert it but the shock thing you are supposed to get only went down one leg...then they took it out and tried again :( not sure if thats why ::)

Hope you feel better soon hun...and massive congratulations...she's gorgeous xxx

I had one, but haven't had any problems with it, so can't really help Hun
I'd suggest telling your mw about it, they will be able to tell you if it's normal or not, it's probably because of the trouble they had trying to do it

I nearly ended up with a general on my last section because they struggled with the spinal - eventually they got it in after four attempts! My back was bruised and sore an a little bit 'cracky' for a couple of weeks but it has been fine since. Prob just needs time for the bruising to settle xx

I had an epidural and had no back problems at all, not even straight after, couldn't even tell I'd had one so if you're worried I'd spk to midwife or hv and see if it's something common or not. xxxx

I had one. Took them 4 attempts to put it in, had 4 massive bruises on my back and my back was agony for a couple of days.

Have you tried arnica, might help!

:)
