for those using opk's......

Do you take them at the same time each day, and do you do them once or twice a day (or more if you are an addict)

I am finding it hard to do mine, as I cannot do it with fmu as I have both my 2yo and 6yo come in the bathroom with me in the morning while I take a shower etc and get ready - and I wouldn't know what to tell them if the saw me pee in a cup and dip a stick in it! lol

And then throughout the day I nip quickly in and out of the bathroom when I need to go (can't hang about) as would be leaving children unattended too long.

So usually it gets to afternoon (whilst the are all napping) before I get to spend long enough in the bathroom to do the test!

Ov tests normally say not to use FMU as the LH hormone is synthesized in the morning so you could get a false reading. I do mine in the afternoon at between 2.30 and 3.30 if I can. I try and hold it as well, I managed to go 4-5 hours without peeing so I could do my ov test yesterday lol! I understand it's a bit harder with 2 LO's but I'd do it while they're napping as you said.

I also only do mine once a day. Hope that helps.

I actually took my opks 3 times daily, I used mine FMU, noon time and then night time. I always got my surge early on, every one is different.

Some people say FMU isnt good although I read on plenty of websites and Clearblue leaflet that you can take it any time of the day as long as it is consistent.

I only got to use opks twice though then I got my BFP

I am going for the just after lunch pee! which co-incides most days with when most children are asleep, although sometimes one or two are up.....but I will just dip and bring test down with me, lol. I have more than just my own children here as I am a childminder so can have up to 5 under 5 here

I did a good one today, I dipped the test and put it down to wait for it to develop and then washed up the pee cup - then picked up the test to find I had put it down in a wet patch on the side so it didn't work properly and I'd already thrown the pee away so couldn't dip in same lot

I used to use a shot glass, Id wee for a min, pop it under then sit it on my window cill and finish peeing. Then I would dip it in and then place it on the wrapper it came in so that it wouldnt get ruined. That was my daily routine

When it's getting close to ovulation time i ramp up to 2 (or sometimes 3) a day. I know it recommends you dont use fmu but i've had plenty of positive readings then.

Afternoon is a fine time to do it tho

where is it that it actually recommends not to use fmu lol? loads of people say this yet on every instruction sheet ive got with opks, including the cb say that its fine to use fmu and most women test in the morning as it is most convenient. Certainly, convenience was the case for me but I found that I peaked early anyway so that is why I tested also. Some people may peak early (like me) test during the afternoon/night and maybe miss it.

hi i would do 2 one about 12 ish and the other about 7 and if i was getting faint lines i woul also do one at bedtime which was usualy about 11 ish and more often than not this one was the darkest and by morning my surge had almost gone so for me wen i was getting faint the bding would begin and i always had ov pain so knew with that aswel xxx

Weekdays - once a day about 7pm. I'd try not to pee or drink much for two hours before!

Weekends I'd do a few throughout the day if I was indoors!
