First Trimester Bleeding

Hello,

I came off the pill at the end of August and was astonished to find a month later my partner and I were expecting our first baby.

I'm roughly 4/6 weeks pregnant. It had not been confirmed by a doctor before I went on holiday as I was awaiting to change doctors after moving house. Last week my partner and I were on our summer holiday in Greece. On Tuesday 18/09 after a day in the beach I noticed I had spotted in my bikini. We had sex that evening and the bleeding became heavier after this. Since Tuesday I have been bleeding. It's not been too heavy almost like my regular period. It has been fresh blood and not dark. I've not lost any big clots. I've not been in any pain and felt fine. The only pain I had was a few menustral cramps but not as bad as I get them when I have my regular period. I returned home on Thursday and went straight to the hospital. They took a urine sample and it showed a negative result for pregnancy but my bloods showed a positive result but the doctor didn't give me any hgc levels. I was hoping my trip to the hospital on Thursday would have clarified what has happened but it didn't. I'm having to go back to hospital on Sunday 23/09 for further urine and blood test to understand if I have had a miscarriage. My bleeding has been slowly stopping each day and this morning it's almost just like the end of my regular period like a dark discharge. My partner and I feel like were in limbo and are just wanting an answer because it is worse but knowing. We are kind of expecting the worst on Sunday anything else would be a blessing. I would like to know if anyone else has had any similar experiences.

Sorry you’re going through this Hun, you could always try another home pregnancy test, if it comes up negative or the line is very faint I’d be inclined to say it’s not a good sign

I did another pregnancy test yesterday morning and the lines were fainter than usual so doesn't look good at all. Wish it was Sunday already so I can know and begin to move forward.

Just to let anyone know reading this. The outcome was as expected. Had an internal scan today and the nurse confirmed there was nothing there and everything had passed. It's nice to finally have closure on the situation and feel I can now begin to move forward.. My HGC reading from Thursday was 54 which was really low for been roughly 7 weeks. They did some final bloods before I left to make sure my hgc levels are decreasing to rule out eptopic pregnancy. They are calling me with the results this afternoon.
I will never forget the feeling and happiness it brought to me been pregnant and hope one day in the future I will feel it again.
