first set of results satisfactory

I dont know what to think

partners sperm results doctor said is ok

my blood tests even though their was some confusion over when I had them done in my cycle
He finally compared the results and concluded that I am ovulating

but now there is no explanation why we havent gotten pregnant
so its unexplained right now
ive been referred off to a gynecologist now for more results

im gutted really I dont know what else to think

im doubting weather they tested for the rise for ovulation as they had them down as pre ovulation not post
but he compared them and said its indicated ovulation after all

What was the actual number? You had it done at 7dpo so that's the right day.
The doctors are not knowledgeable enough in my opinion to really read the SA results, this is from experience when they said my OHs were ok and it seems to happen often. The morphology was just acceptable so that could mean it could take longer and I really think there might be something with the viscosity as it should say 'normal' if its normal. I am not sure in what way this would impact fertility but it may in some way. I am not being a negative nelly, its just my opinion and would be happy to be wrong.

Its good they have referred you on to gynae now xx

Hi lisey they couldn't tell me what the number was I need to get a print out on Monday and ill put it up online
he was useless I had to ask him to check the results together to see if I had ovulated
but morphology was low but he said it was ok

I agree I dont think they know what they on about xx

Hey hun, myself and OH are the same, both our results came back fine. I was absolutely gutted, as silly as that sounds. But just because they can't pinpoint anything doesn't mean they won't help. GL x

Hi honey bear I posted in your other thread about the sperm results as I agree with lisey that GPs don't know enough to analyse these properly - we were told by gp that results similar to your OHs were fine but fertility specialist thought this was llikely the reason (morphology) it was taking us so long.

There are other tests they will run for you when you are referred the first will likely be a scan as even if you are ovulating there can be other things that can affect fertility. Hopefully there won't be anything to sorry about and you'll get your bfp very soon x

Understanding what the Drs are trying to tell you is hard work. We were told that OH sperm was above average and I was ovulating when on Clomid but when we came to IVF, the embryologist said we had only 3% morphology!!! Had we been told this earlier we would have gone straight for IVF.

Hi ladies had the appointment this morning
Doctors have gone over results

My progesterone at 7dpo was 37!!
Fsh 1.7
Lh 4.4

And the other female androgens where satisfactory

My fellas results he went over and did say that
The morphology was quite low but as he has so mAny sperm its not so much of a worry and they would probably repeat the test anyway
He said u times the morphology by seven or something to work out healthy sperm i dont know

We have had our consultant referal
But he said we should just try relax as apparently your body can build up blockers when your stressed so xx

That's great that you got your results and they show you are ovulating
And fab that the referral has been done too. I hope it happens for you soon. It drives me mad when they say don't stress cos then I stress about not stressing lol. Its impossible xx

Yeah 37 is great, anything above 30 indicates ovulation

Im on the clearblue trial and dont even enjoy it now because i know its just adding extra pressure
After dtd though i go to the loo straight after because im proneto utis

Apparently its a myth that you need to stay laying down but I do try for about 20 mins.
That's a shame about the clearblue trial, I find using opks helpful and I actually need to use them as I have to know where I am in cycle for acupuncture but the trial is probably more stressful than regular opks. Are you able to stop it, not worth doing something that makes you feel that way xx

Its good to see the progesterone is helping your cycles more
I definitely think after the trial i will be taking sometime of the forum and keeping myself busy from ttc as with results coming back the way they are
I recon alot is down to stressing and pressure on it all

Have you any nice trips planned ??
For some reason i still get excited for halloween lol

We are going away to Wales this weekend but no other trips planned, looking forward to a change of scenery and some relaxation. Are you still going away? A holiday may do you the world of good.
I have only ever been to one Halloween party, it was so much fun though xx

Well my GP told me I wasn't ovulating and that DH SA was satisfactory which was not the case at all. When we were referred we were really surprised to find out that I was indeed ovulating and that DH SA results showed really poor motility and morphology!!! As everyone else has said GP's just don't know enough about how to read the SA results to give an opinion.

That's terrible. I have had bad experiences too. They should be more careful as their opinions could be detrimental to peoples fertility. If I had listened to them I would have continued to ttc with no intervention when I am infact running out of eggs. They make too many assumptions rather than looking at the facts xx

I couldnt agree more i double checked my results with doctors after what lisey said about sa results and one doctor said that they where fine
And todays said that some where low and need looking at

They look at everyone as an average but not as people who might need different things

Aw i love wales its so scenic and coasy
i lived in north wales for a while
A weekend away can always help if it wasnt getting too expensive

I have never been to Wales so am really looking forward to it. I know what you mean, it is so expensive. I have to go away in summer holidays and half terms too cos of my son and my work also so that bumps the price up massively too!!

You're right about the doctors, sometimes its like you're just another object moving along the conveyor belt! Its all so individual and they need to pay more attention to that xx
