Hi ladies. I've been lurking around for a while but thought I would actually post something!! We've been TTC for just over 2 years. Had all tests done, I'm normal (well normal as can be lol!!) but oh's results weren't good. That was about 6 months ago. Since then, his tests have improved through taking vitamins and I was prescribed clomid and started this cycle for my first round and to take 2 tablets a day on days 2-6. Had a scan cd11 that showed 4 follicles, 2 one side and 2 the other, both measuring 1 at 16mm and one at 12mm. Had a positive opk on cd15 and almost positive one on cd16 so I'm assuming that cd16 was 1dpo (sorry I'm fairly new to all of this so hope I've got this right!!) does this sound like enough follicles? And I'm also assuming that taking clomid on cd2-6 is to improve quality? Sorry for rambling!!

Also my son over the last couple of days has all of a sudden started talking about babies and that he wants a girl baby and keeps asking when it will be here lol!! The positive side of me is thinking does he know something I don't know yet lol!! Probably a bit extreme but I hope he's right!! Thank you in advance for reading xx

I'm on my first clomid cycle too :)
4 follicles sound great! Think usually people get 1 or 2 :)
Fingers crossed fo you! Xx

Hi

Good luck to both of you on clomid. Rach it sounds as though they are giving you it so that you release more eggs and it gives hubby's sperm a better chance to fertilize one of them. Not all follicles will contain an egg, sometimes they do, but not always.

I'm sure you are taking vitamins but make sure you do as clomid is known to make your lining thin making implantation difficult. I found Seven Seas Trying for a baby better than pregnacare for me x

Ah thanks millielaura, good luck to you too x

Belfa thanks for the advice, I really don't know much about follicles & eggs. Need to do some googling me thinks!!xx

Hi Rach and millielaura, I start clomid next cycle, how did / are you both getting on with it? xx

Hi unicorn, I start month 3 next cycle taking 100mg cd2-6. Although I've only taken it for 2 months I've found that it's made my cycle normal (28 days instead of my usual 24) and for what's seems like the first time in months I have ovulated both times. Unfortunately no bfp yet but I'm always hopeful!! And also the only side effect that I seem to have is pounding headaches but a couple of paracetamol does the trick!! Good luck!!xx

Hi Unicorn :)

I had my cycle of Clomid in May-June with 50mg and I didn't respond at all. A lot of people respond super well to Clomid :). I also had pretty bad side effects so don't be alarmed about the hot flushes and dizzy spells etc if you do get them,it's totally normal. A lot of people are fine though :)

I actually got my bfp late last night. After my failed clomid cycle i had a month off clomid, had my hsg and lost weight and got my bfp :). I was meant to be starting 100mg clomid next month

Let me know how you get on :)xxxxxxx

Hi Both, that's really positive to hear, thank you, and major congratulations on your bfp millielaura, how exciting!
Hopefully Rach and I will be close behind you.
I start with 50mg next week and hope I respond (without too many side effects) as I don't think our consultant would want to risk upping the dose as I can't risk a multiple pregnancy. I also hope I don't respond too well for that reason :eh:
I think I am ovulating, my cycles are really regular and temping indicates that I do but my 21 day progesterone levels aren't that great and I spot a lot before my period so our consultant thinks clomid will help, I really hope so :) xx
