first midwife appointment / scan

This is my first pregnancy and was wondering what I can expect when I first see the midwife?
I phoned them this morning and they said there will be no need to see them until the 12th week scan.

What happens on the first appointment? Just so that I know what to expect

Just alot of paperwork and measuring height, weight and BP and possible a blood test

I went for mine on Monday at the same time as scan. As Em said, just lots of paperwork - height, weight, BP, medical history, bloods (I had 4 lots taken). The scan was amazing, she took measurements and checked there was just 1 in there, gave me my correct date. Plus baby was being accommodating and let her measure the nuchal fold for the combined test for Downs - of which I'm still waiting for the results.
