First fertility appointment tips

Oh dear, sounds traumatic. I don't think they should do it during AF for this reason. Its good that everything was normal though. I hope you feel better after a sleep xx

Oh that's awful, I'm so sorry. Did they manage to continue? What was the result?

Thank you xxx yeah she managed to finish luckily and results came back normal which is good , it did feel traumatic feel upset thinking about it now xxx

My first one was so painful that they had to stop, so that was even more traumatic because I had to go home not knowing if my tubes were blocked or not and it was just before Christmas (2012.)

I'm really hoping that my next one (to check for this new blockage and possibly avoid another laparoscopy) will be less painful because I'm now used to being poked and prodded and tubes going in. Fingers crossed!

I hope you can forget about it soon and won't ever have to repeat it.

Just saw this, ahh really they are lying to us when they say it's mild period pain then ! I hope it isn't painful for you again though, maybe take some strong painkillers before, co codomal can be good and you buy them in a pharmacy xxx good luck with everything xxx

Oh and I can't believe you are too old for ivf on the nhs what a joke!!! That's so unfair surely if there's any chance it could work they should just let you have a couple of free attempts xxx

I've got some Ibuprofen that I was given after my lap and dye last year that stopped me feeling any pain so I might use them! (I was only allowed to take 3 in 24 hours so I alternated them with Paracetamol but preferred the Ibuprofen cos they made me feel spaced out, ha ha!) When I book I'll ask about pain killers. I also need to ask how much its going to cost us!

That's a point, if we're supposed to be ideal candidates for IVF because we've not got any actual fertility problems (until this hydrosalpinx since having treatment!) then we should be allowed a couple of free goes.
