As the post says, apparently you do not need to use Folic Acid past being 12 weeks as the baby has developed enough to not need it....

I am not taking any other form of vitamins so am wondering what all you other ladies are taking? :)

Nothing! Waste of money and extra calories you dot actually need! Unless you have a really poor diet, then you could get pregnacare, but I didn't even take folic acid! If you ask me, it's unnecessary to put things into your body that you can get from food. Big glbeliever in healthy eating over synthetic vitamins, me. X

Yeah you don't need to take anything else. I suppose if you can't get the stuff you need from your diet for whatever reason you could take pregnacare or a pregnancy multi vit? I got some free vitamins for the healthy start thing. Has folic acid, vitamin C and D. My diet is pretty good, although I've added more iron rich foods in the last couple of weeks, and thats really helped.

Its up to you whether you want to take anything else
:)

I think it depends on you and your bloods. I was recommended to take pregnacare or something similar because I was low in Iron, calcium and vitamin something (can't remember which letter!!!). But I agree with flexi, unless you've been advised to, it's great to get everything you need from your diet.

xx

Thankyou for the advice :) Im not a great fruit lover so I guess I better take something as my diet isn't the best it could be...I completely agree with you Lexi, about not putting unnecessary things into your body, but guess I need a little bit more help due to not eating enough fruit...

Think I may just need to eat more greens and less Nik Naks lol! :-D

Yum Nik Niks!!!! ;)

I've been eating heaps or brocolli and spinach ;) and I think I have an addiction to satsumas :) Apparently vit C helps to absorb iron better!

my midwife gave me some pregnancy vitamins - nhs ones. She said you should be taking them all the way through especially if youre not eating overly healthy. Maybe shes just OTT though lol x

Hi Girls - I'm the same as Cherelle, my midwife gave me NHS vitamins for pregnant people too so I've been taking them. Not managed to eat much fruit and veg until recently so I took them to make sure that I was getting everything that I need and you don't have to pay for them!
