My mam is REALLY big on feng sui (although she doesn't know THAT much about it lol), and she keeps making me paranoid about the fact that the bedroom I'm currently sleeping in (Alex's room) has my bed in a 'coffin' position with the feet pointing towards the door.
I don't know what I can do about that though. It's a really small room.
This is what it looks like:
This is what feng sui says in regards to bedrooms (the relevant stuff in this circumstance anyway):
Your bed should always have a solid wall behind you. This is important if you wish to have a good rest. A solid wall simply means that you can go into deeper sleep and therefore enabling you to have good rest so that when you wake up in the morning, you will feel fresh and well rested. This also allows you to be able to concentrate on your work better.
Position of Bed: When you are lying in bed, your feet should not directly face the door, since this is known as the coffin position and is very inauspicious!
and from another website:
The Bed
The positioning of the bed is of the utmost importance. Never have your head or your feet toward door. You should be able to see the door without in any way blocking the entrance. Placing the bed diagonally in the room is excellent if you have the space. Otherwise, the head should face north or east.
Don't sleep directly beneath a ceiling fan or have anything hanging looming over the bed, and keep clutter from beneath the bed. A solid headboard offers a feeling of security.
Neither is it good to sleep directly beneath a window. If this can't be avoided, make sure to cover the window with an opaque curtain.
Anybody got any ideas how I can get past the fact that I'm in the coffin position then? The room is too narrow to have the bed sideways on, and I obviously don't want to put Alex's cot in the place of my bed, because then he'll be in the coffin position.
If anybody knows anything about feng sui - is there anything you can do to counter the bad effects of not being able to change the bed position? Hanging a crystal? Buying a goldfish? anything?
I know this sounds silly but my mam is really freaking me out lol
