I am going out to get the final bits for my bag tomorrow and wondering whether I should get some Femfresh for my good girl?

Reason why I'm thinking no is because I don't reckon I will want to touch down there.. I already have loads of toiletries down so trying not to add TOO much

What did you ladies use?

I am planning to put salt in my bath afterwords heard that is good for healing and keeping out infection but do I require anything further to wash it with LOL ?!

Thanks girls.

To be honest i wouldnt. If you have stitches you don't want anything but water down there. Even if you don't, you might have a graze and i can't think of anything worse than using that on it Xx

Sent from my shit hot phone! Fo shizzle home girls.

I wouldn't I you want something to wash it with as a freshen up in nice I would get a simple range no fragrance and no chemicals ph balanced body wash. I used this and used underwater mostly around the tops of the legs helps as the more inwards you work the more tender it gets but it's also nice to be clean xx

I use femfresh normally but haven't used anything but water since having the baby, hospital will say no products

Ooouuucchhhhh the thought of the burn afterwards omg......think water personally to begin with xxxxx

Eek no way! I didn't want anything going near that area afterwards! Lol
I just used water with a few drops of tea tree oil in the bath as its antibacterial and left me feeling quite fresh after. I really feel it helped me to heal quite quickly too :)

Yes I swore by tea tree oil with both my babies x

Thanks girls I was thinking some sort of bath tea tree oil type thing or salt but wasn't sure if that would be enough. Femfresh has no chmeicals and is an intimate wash but still.. I don't think I'll want to go near it afterwards either LOL xxxxx

I was surprisingly ok down there even with stitches. I found tea tree oil very good., some drops in a warm bath and I put some drops on the pads too. Washing with water in the shower helps too xx

I've not heard of salt baths after hun???

I know salt is good for infection (I was advised to go down to the sea 3 times a day to wash my wounds when I had a moped accident in Cyprus years ago!!) but the thought of having a salt bath after labour is a bit

I certainly wouldn't use any Fem-Fresh down there either.

I had no tears, stitches or cuts etc but I still stuck to plain water baths (in-fact I am still having plain baths!)

xxxxxxxxxx

Salt baths are fantastic :) I've done it with all my 3 and recommended by mw and all my friends have done it too :)

I would say no - but I would advise to wet toilet roll - as its less harsh when wiping

Oh I will be taking non perfumed sensitive wipes I think.. dont want any toilet roll breaking and sticking to me iukwim? LOL. My cousin had advised just to get a babywipe and pat clean after the toilet..

Thanks again ladies - off to asda shortly to get my granny pants! LOL xxxxxxx

Jesus I remeber sitting on the toilet with a jug of tepid water pouring it over myself when I wee'd. The though should I hold my wee - and go for a big one or little and often! arrggghhhh!! x

Yeah I dread doing the toilet, esp a poo I'm scared my insides will fall out  tmi!! Hahaha xxxx

I had stitches and the first couple of times I tried to pee I couldn't cos it hurt so much my body wouldn't let me

The midwives kept asking me if I had pee'd yet, and when I said no the word catheter got me straight on that loo for a pee - I think I remember crying

Don't get me started on a poo - it literally felt like the world was going to fall out of me!

What about the sensitive wipes I've got for baby? They are non-perfumed and extra sensitive, would they be ok to use post labour?

As long as they are neutral with no added anything no perfume I got sensitive wipes for my bag last night. I use the huggies aloe vera everyday but got the pure huggies for my bag.

God I can only imagine right now lol, it'll be me soon though!

I get scared to go to the toilet when I have a urine infection never mind post labour hahaha!

I looked up the ingredients of Femfresh because I was curious:

Aqua,Sodium Laureth Sulfate ,Sodium Chloride ,Cocamidopropyl Betaine ,Parfum ,Polyquaternium-39 ,Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice ,Tocopheryl Acetate ,Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract ,Glycerin ,Lactic Acid ,Sodium Lactate ,2-Bromo-2-Nitropropane-1,3-Diol ,Dichlorobenzyl Alcohol ,Phenoxyethanol ,Methylchloroisothiazolinone ,Methylisothiazolinone ,Methylparaben ,Propylparaben ,Magnesium Chloride ,Magnesium Nitrate ,Limonene ,Linalool ,CI 14720 ,CI 15510

They claim it's made from natural ingredients but it looks to me like it's a bunch of chemicals with a few natural ingredients added too. The perfume alone would be enough to give me a rash down there at the best of times, to I think I'll be staying well away from the stuff post labour:shock:! I do have particularly sensitive skin though so it might be fine for some.
