Haha! You don't need to LM! He's in your neck of the woods! X

Thanks Tor :) it really does suck doesn't it!!!! When do u plan to go back?
And get you being the breadwinner! Girl power!!!!! X

It does suck yes.

I try not to think about it because we really don't have a choice. I sometimes wish I wasn't the breadwinner so we wouldn't rely on my wages so much but then I like the lifestyle we can afford and that is important to me as well to an extent.

You gotta do what you gotta do right?

I'll definitely have 9 months off and might push that to a year if I can though my oh doesn't want me to have a year off cos he thinks we can't afford it (doesn't listen to me who is the accountant....eash) lol

I guess it means we will cherish the time we have together even more though :)

He needs to get rid of that bloody car. Or get rid of him

ooooooh -loool - i'll listen out for the english accent!!

One of my old neighbours used to have a fancy car, it was a fast one but thats all i know...started with an L. Anyway, he never used it but used to take it out of the garage once a month, cleaned it, polished it, drove to the top of the street then put it back in garage, he'd openly admit he didn't use it. Now thats value for money!! lool

xxxx

I know exactly how you feel yup, DH races motorbikes and last month it cost us £1200 with the average month costing between 600-800!!! I would love to go PT and would actually quit my career and get a job in a shop/ factory if it meant eating with lo more.
I'm proud of my career but I'm proud of lo more!!
I an lucky as my job does offer me flexibility I'm classed as a remote worker so fan manage my own diary

Fancy sharing a lottery win ;)

Ps I don't think your oh thought you were serious in those texts xx

What is it with men and their cars?! Cant believe he is actually putting the car over his LO... Insist he gets rid so you can at least go PT and spend more quality time with Harlow!

Hun sounds to me like part time is defo possible . Just explain working part time you would be find financially without his car and he shouldn't expect you to give up time with your daughter to pay for his second car

im only going back part time too and will just have to cut back

hope he sees sense hun x

Ha love the texts.

I'd be heartbroken too tbh I saved like mad when I found out I was pregnant so I could take a year off I'm gonna be skint but it'll be so worth it in my eyes.

I guess it's a shame you're not paying for childcare or you could've used that for your benefit.

WHAT!!!! £700 just for a bit of metal... right fair enough its a 'hobby' (well actually its not fair enough, that's a stupid hobby) but jeez, family and your happiness surely should come before that, he could sell it, you could either quit work or go PT and when Harlow is older and you feel ready to go back FT then he can have his stupid car back!

if not ignore him, only go back PT and he will just have to put up the consequences of 'Not affording' things when he is shelling out £700 every month!

How come he can get/keep what he wants, but you cant!!!

:hugs:

ahhh thats such a waste of money??? thats like u buying designer handbags each month and calling it your 'hobby'

id ignore him go part-time anyway..you'd feel way better and get to spend more time with harlow..

would he actually put his cars before you and harlow..? i doubt it.. :hugs:

I spoke to him about it and he said that he can't sell it as who would buy an £80k car outright of him. True enough.. So I said well you could trade it in for a cheaper car so the monthly repayments are like £200 and the fuel would be like £20 a week rather than £80.
He said he doesn't want to trade it in as it's paid of in a year anyway and then he plans to keep it in the garage and have it as a classic car....

I am going to just do what you all said and go part time whether he likes it or not! I don't see why I should cut my losses for the sake of a damn stupid car!

Humpfff!

Thanks ladies! Glad you all agree :) xxx

Lol sounds like my OH!

It's locked away in the garage as he works away all week, he comes home Friday night and then buggas of outside cleaning his car for 3 solid hours! But then he can't use it to go out and about with me and H as it is a sports car it is impossible to get the pram in. Pointless purchase! The car that is not the pram lol.
Ever seen that documentary about people who had sex with cars? Mechaphiles they call um... I keep telling OH I wouldn't be surprised it he was one lol ( joking off course!! ) x

hmmm go to the garage open the door and let down the handbrake .....walk away casually....

Dear god I can't believe that!! 700 per month on a car?? :faint: I don't think men get it how important it is for us to spend time with the babies. O/h thinks I should be back at work already!!

Haha it's a tempting idea YM!

Princess my OH thinks the same! He said to me last night that I should feel sorry for him not myself as he only sees Harlow on weekends... Can't argue with him on that but then my point back to him is that surely if one parent is away all the time, would it be atleast a little bit more stable if I am home more rather than pawning her of to in laws!
Men live on a whole other planet at times!
When do you plan on going back to work? X
