~February & March Mummies and Babies~

When do breastfed babies start to eat less? I've noticed jas isn't eating as much?

I don't think they eat less but they eat more quickly as they get bigger so you think they're eating less. Keep persevering, she is getting what she needs. There will be times (the past few days with mine) where it seems as though they're never full as the eat every hour and it feels like you've got nothing left to give. It's her way of telling your body she wants more and your body then responds to it and creates more.

Is that what you meant?

That's what I meant eating more quickly. Some of her feeds are between 5-10 minutes some can be 40 minutes. Was worried there was something wrong but maybe not! X

I wouldn't be worried. Sometimes mine guzzles it all up within 5 mins and passes out. Other times she spends over an hour grazing and I worry I don't have enough to satisfy her. But it's usually fine and in the next feed I have enough. As long as she's producing wet nappies and gaining weight then she's taking what she needs.xxx

I will babybee, he sends one back! Give little miss one from me too :-) loving her pics!!! Xx

I think I've figured out why she was quite pukey this morning. Had her in a bit of an awkward position so she must have been taking loads of air in!

Sassy try offering him a few sucks of water inbetween feeds to help his bowels loosen up. Or like I do with Harry offer baby camomile tea instead if water, it's easily digestable and supposedly has a calming affect?! Harry takes it really well. I've got a Hipp one from Ebay but there are plenty on Amazon to choose from x

Claire, is it just the plain camomile one you have???

Nicky, soooooo cute!!! Love her slippers xx

I'm getting so upset with the 5/6pm feed I give her, she never seems to be satisfied with it and it feels like I don't have enough milk to give her. Today i let her suck for about an hour and a half and now she's semi-content with the mil.

Another problem I have is that everyone wants to bloody hold her when I know she's unsettled and needs to just be held or gently rocked. They all talk and coo and prop her up and get her all over stimulated and overtired, she screams the house down then is shoved back to me and my sore nipples! Oh but to them it's fine, they just 'want a cuddle' no matter what massive screaming fit is coming my way.

I'm back to mine tomorrow as I've been at the inlaws all week. I'm looking forward to getting back into our routine and being able to breast feed in the comfort of my lounge.

Sorry for the long rant. Xxx

Ff mums, have you had periods yet?? I'm nearly 8 weeks pp and still not had one... I thought I did but nope. I'm now worried that they've still left some placenta in me and its blocking my period coming.. Shall I go to docs?

After my daughter I didn't have my first period until 16 weeks post childbirth... (Formula feeding) You've got nothing to worry about hun xx
