~February & March Mummies and Babies~

HL28, that's what I was thinking too. She was fine in the end and isn't being sick (for now).
How's little Beau now? Poor little sausage!

I think we're all being so hard on ourselves! Looking after people that can't do anything or talk is hard work!

MummyEdgar! I was wondering how you were! Lovely to hear from you. How was your labour and birth?

I've just woken up from co-sleeping. Little terror was hungry and I'm still feeling poo so I latched her on and fell asleep. I've woken up to the bottomless pit still feeding from it!
I quite enjoy it but obviously love it when she's content in her cot.

Xxx

I co sleep a lot as well, I feed on my side and we both doze off, so quick and easy. He goes to bed in the crib, then I bring him into bed at a feeding later on.

The disturbed sleep is a huge part in how we are all feeling, there is a reason sleep deprivation is a form of torture. But it can't and won't last foreve, at least that is my mantra as I watch the clock tick by in the early hours.

I hope the poorly people are all feeling bette soon.

We skyped with my sister earlier, she showed us out the window and it was snowing. Bleh. The winter seems to have lasted forever in England, i think when the weather picks up it improves peoples moods and being able to get out and about without needing to wear every item of clothing is always nice. And like babybee says, looking after a smal human who is entirely dependant on you but can't talk or communicate with you is hard work.

Sassy, you aren't a bad mum. A bad mum wouldn't even wonder if she was bad or not, she just wouldn't care, the fact you worry about it shows that you care. You are doing so well with the expressing and being alone so much, I have lots of admiration for you. Be kind to yourself.

Look what we jus done xx
My mum an I battled to do even xx

Mummy to Francesca (born at 13:27 on 10/08/11 weighing 7lbs 6oz, 5 days early) and Benjamin (born at 23:08 on 08/03/13 weighing 8lbs 15oz, 1 day late).

Tapatalking!

Never got chance to do labour thread baby bee, i was reading my notes the other night cos i cant remeber much of it lol but the highlights are:

Midwife appointment, queried watery discharge, sent to hospital to see if waters had gone, during internal they saw muconium(sp) so decided to induce me and sent me to labour ward ( we were convinced we would be sent home to labour) got put on drugs and monitored, 19 hours later i was only 6cm, over contracting so they had to up and down the drugs a few times, and william still haddnt moved down much. My temp was rising and williams heart rate was dropping each time i contracted so they decided to do emergency C section. He was born at 10:58am the day after induction. C section spinal didnt work properly so i could still move my legs and feel some sharp pain so got knocked out halfway through with a top up of something from the magic drugs cabinet! lol

all in all awful at the time but ive already forgotten about it and am so glad he is here

unrelated question - what d you girls know about babies sleeping on their tummies? william seems to sleep much better on me on his tummy but im aware its "not recommended" anyone elses prefer this?

We've changed Harry's milk. We've come to realise he suffers from wind pains. He doesn't lift his legs in pain which is why we just assumed he was a clingy baby who cried alot but this morning he screamed for 2hrs after a feed and was clearly in pain. We've now put him on Hipp Organic Combiotic First milk. It's the newest milk out apparantly and organic is best as they say so we're giving it a go. He had his first feed at 10.30 and i must say he didn't cry half as much afterwards and did a few normal sized burps rather than a humongous belch that hurts him followed by hiccups and lots of yelling. I'm praying the change will make him happier while awake x

Managed some sleep with him laid on my arm, I can't usually sleep like that but was so tired! Xx

Oh dear sassy! Sounds like you're having a right time of it!!

We just had Ben in his car seat on the floor 'cause he's struggling with wind so him being a bit more 'upright' helps... And Cesca fell over next to the car seat and punched him in the face... :wall: He's fine, made him jump more than anything lol xx

MummyEdgar that sounds traumatic!!! The spinal block didn't work properly?! You poor thing! Having little William must make if so worthwhile!

As for tummies, I can't really give advice but I'm sure there was someone on this thread who said their lo preferred sleeping on their tummy'

Sassy, I hope you get some much needed rest! You're a brilliant mother, you've given me so much advice these past 6 weeks!

HL28, hope Beau feels better very soon, her poor little eyes. It's such a cute little image with her earmuffs!

I'm refusing to get dressed today and am watching one born every minute for some strange reason!

Xxx

Well I've had an awful day!! Jas has just wanted to eat constantly but she usually has a sleep between 11 and 2 but didn't get that as my parents came round. So with all her screaming to be fed and worked herself into a right state and I just at and cried!! I'm so so tired and just want this feeding to get better!

Do you think she could be hitting the 3 week growth spurt? X

Ah hun sending hugs. Have u considered a dummy? Some babies are very sucky babies and need the comfort. I used to be dead against thembut it helps provide them with comfort they need. And they rarely like them to begin with especially when BF and not used to a teat. Xxx

Tried a dummy - she didn't want it! She does actually feed when she's on my boob that's the thing. She's not just on it for nothing! That's what's making me think its a growth Spurt? She's been crashed our for just over an hour now. Really hoping she sleeps through the night with just her usual couple of feeds!

Had a terrible day today skyler is not herself at all. She's not slept all day and has had diarrhea still got the spots too :-/ apparently my sis and nephew have both got a viral infection so thinking maybe she's got that :-/ but now I'm unsure whether to give her this calpol as she's under 2 months!
