~February & March Mummies and Babies~

Ah sassy try not to beat yourself up about it. I think it's amazing that u have been expressing its bloody hard!!! Xxx

Just in dr now waiting for my 6 week check up hope all is ok with my "issues". Left skyler screaming with Paul in the car, hope he takes the initiative and drives around with her for a bit to soothe her but u watch he won't and I'll return to a screaming baby grr!

Also concerned about my nephew he started nursery Monday and he's really not enjoying it we are very concerned about the care he's receiving there so gonna give it a couple weeks then I might have to go in and speak to them (I'm a senco in another school). So had a lot on my mind this week!

Yeah I feed her literally before going out the door. She latches fine but I say she's been really fussy and then dreaming when she hasn't latched fast enough!!

I just feel so drained and like I dread the routine of wake up in the night, change and feed and then get up on a morning, change then constantly feed! Just feel like she's permenantly attached to my boob! When Chris gets home from work I want to be able to say here you go I'm off for a shower but I can't cos she wants to feed all the time!

Diane, which school are you senco at???
He is fighting sleep on the sofa the cheeky monkey!!!
I'm getting the I told you so from his daddy! Arse! Xxxx

Ladies I'm so depressed the nurse said that I do have weak muscles down below now :-( and all I can do is keep up with pelvic floors :-( feel so horrible how can I possibly ever have sex with hubby again now knowing this :-( also got a skin tag or something which is making going to toilet so painful so gotta see dr tomorrow for that :-(

It gets easier I promise Nicky you're doing a fab job. Few more weeks and it should gets easier

Diane pelvic floor exercises will help hun don't worry. What did she do to determine that you have weak muscles may I ask? I bet we all have weak muscles at the min if they looked?! X

It's my left nipple I'm struggling with - its literally spraying milk at her and she's choking and getting wind. Then she screams - I just don't know what to do - I've tried changing position but that hasn't helped! I can't just feed her off my right boob all the time.

I really don't want to have to put her on formula at all!

Don't avoid feeding her off your left hun it'll prob make it worse. Your supply does eventually settle and u don't tend to spare them unless they latch off mid suck! Just try and stay calm yourself it's amazing how your mood can effect them. Boften gulps and can't catch her breath I just pat her back and shush her so she doesn't freak. Do you have a BF support group near you? They can help keep you motivated and give much better advice than me lol xxx

I'm pretty devastated girls - finally went and picked up my antibiotics today and the pharmacist said under no circumstances can I breast feed while taking them or for 3 days after finishing them as they are so strong. Phoned doctor and asked if there was another one he could prescribe and he said unfortunately not as the infection is so bad I need the strongest type as it's already spreading to my pelvis.

What have they given you Hun??? There must be an alternative??? Xxx

They're called tinidazole and apparently doctor said these are the strongest and it's either this or going in to hospital on iv anti biotics and I wouldn't be able to breast feed on this either!!! I thought they were meant to be doing everything they could to encourage you to breast feed!!

Forgot to say he also prescribed tablets to stop my breast milk as he said I'll end up being engorged from not feeding for 9 days. I'm considering just buying a stop and expressing and binning the milk until I can start again??

What do you guys think?

So how do they expect you to feed your baby? That's ridiculous how can they prescribe them to a breastfeeding mother surely there must be something else you can have.

Nicky i know its mega painful but don't feed from one boob only i done that one day and woke up with a really engorged boob. If its to painful try expressing from it at least that way it won't build up.

Well my little man had his first bath today and he seemed to enjoy it, he didn't cry until we took him out and now his hair is all fluffy and soft and we only used water.

Going to a breastfeeding support group tomorrow, i am still feeling a little bit negative since my crappy midwife appt yesterday so hoping this will boost mtg confidence and reassure me that i am feeding him properly.

I'd be tempted to express Claire. That's a really tough one. Could u ask your HV for her opinion? Xxx

I'd express too, I'm just shocked there isn't an alternative Hun, poor you xx

Believe it or not I don't have a health visitor!! My own doctor has refused to take the baby on as a patient as we've moved to a different area so I'm expecting a call from the health board tomorrow to tell me who they've allocated as his doctor. Then I'll be assigned a health visitor. My after care has honestly been shocking and has definitely contributed to my mood and inability to bond with the baby x

HL28, my baby is constantly feeding today due what I can only think is her growth spurt. It feels like my boobs are empty all the time. Is that because she's feeding more often?

Sassy, is your little man going through a growth spurt? The link I put above sums my one up!! I feel like my milk supply isnt enough but that link says our breast produce more milk the more it's demanded?

Maddie, what a little heartbreaker!

Msclaireypants, I would definitely express so it doesn't impact your milk? Then once you're off the antibiotics you can feed him on breast milk?

Diane, I have my check up tomorrow and am dreading it too! The pelvic floor exercises are good though.

Nicky, it definitely does get easier!

Sounds like these babies are being ultra difficult today!

Babybee I think he is going through a growth spurt yep, but cos I'm exclusivly expressing unless I express more it won't effect my supply, and finding time to express when he is fussing is impossible!!!!
