I didn't give in - there is a bottle ready made for her in the kitchen but I stuck at it!! Just fed her from the sore boob after massaging and hand expressing it a bit. Was still painful but no where near as bad!! Only just fed her so hoping she's not up at 1.30 like normal!!

As for bloodless down there - how long did it take you to stop! And tonight I've had my first tiny tiny tiny clot! Hoping that's nothing to worry about!! X

My doctor told me clots arenormal and only to worry if they are bigger than a fifty pence piece.

Nicky isthere a baby cafe near you? They would be able to help you with the sore nipples, suggest different positions, latch etc.

We are doing ok. My husband went back to work today on half days. We have an appointment with the neonatologist this afternoon to check on Eli's lung and make sure it has fully healed. We had a full metabolic screening done as well when he was in NICU and will get those results today.

How long did it take for the umbilical cord to drop off? Going back to poo, we have the opposite problem here, Eli poos all the time. Every nappy change he has pooped.

Nicky well done hun ur doing fab and it will get better. Definitely look into a BF support group near u!! And just a suggestion check babe isn't tongue tide maybe! When latching on think babies nose to ur nipple so baby opens mouth really wide to latch on. I also pulled their bottom lip out with my little finger so it's suctioned on right. Xxx

Abi hun I co sleep because I only felt happy sleeping with them being that close and with BF them too I get more rest. Xxx

We got a few hours sleep and he just fed again, and burped 3 times, hoping I can get him back down again as I'm knackered and headache is back!!!!

Im still lightly bleeding an im 17 days post partum now xx clots come an go I had quite a few what I would call big clots an heavy flow stopped x
I had nothing for 2 days mind yhen sneezed and it all kicked off again like heavy period then hss tailed off again to barely anything xx

Quinn being a monkey right now has latched an had maybe 2 sittings of 4-5mins but not a proper feed and keeps fallin asleep only to wake 5 mjns later grrr I hate this witching hour 3-5am is his "naughty" time of having lil feeds an waking all the time xx

Tallulah nice to hear from you hun! My daughters cord didn't fall off until she was about 2 weeks old !

Abi I was still bleeding until yesterday (5 weeks pp). Clots should be no bigger than 50p, anymore and you should get checked.

Hope all is ok with everyone, skyler had a great day yesterday I think maybe she was going through a leap before as now she seems alert, smiling, cooing and interested in her toys! I'm really starting to enjoy this!

Hey Talulah, lovely to hear from you and to hear Eli is doing so well! Mine was in NICU and they cut off some of the cord due to some procedure they were doing. Then it came completely off at around day 16.

Diane, awesome news about Skyler! I'm hoping my daughter gets like that soon. She slept all day yesterday and was up almost the whole night. She would only fall asleep on my husbands chest!! So I just left them to it and I slept. Im trying a routine out today.

DW mine does that a lot too between 3-5am, I haven't yet got a solution as its all a matter of luck. Let me know if you figure it out!

Right in going to put her down for her first nap of the day! Wish me luck ladies!

I do have to shhh in her ears, stroke her cheek and pat her bum too!!! Not forgetting cuddling her in my bed! So long way to go from self soothing in her basket but I'm happy I'm not feeding her to sleep. I'm just going to stick with it and hope she takes it as her sleep que eventually. Xxx

Hey I'm ok! Feeling a bit freaked out that this time next week chris will be back at work and then I'm on my own!

The feeding is going better again. I fed her at 11.30 then had to wake her at 3.45 for a feed then had to wake her again at 6.30 for a feed! She's just had another and now she's sparko again!

How us it possible to have so much love for someone but be do scared of them? Cos I'm petrified of her and that I'm not gonna be able to do enough for her!! X

He only woke once, then woke again at 7:30 for a feed, had his feed and was awake til now, he is fighting sleep but starting to go off so im gonna try an hour or two more!!!
Little diva has kicked me from my bit of the bed to the other side where he usually lies, think he just wants the bit I've warmed up for him, cheeky monster!!!

The routine I'm using is the one by G Ford ( for some reason it won't let me type the authors name in the post!!) the book is called 'The Contended Little Baby'. She is very strict so I'm just taking parts of it. We're currently on the 10am feed.

Hey hun, ive not found a solution he jus sleeps on my chest eventually x but last night he wouldn't settle was on an off the breast until 6.30 eventually I gsve in an we coslept but I jus woke now an he was still asleep 3hrs 45min!!! I needed that catch up of sleep xx
My sister and nan comong soon for the day as they live over hr &15 from me xx

Morning ladies

Blake is having a sleep so I have a few minutes to catch up! He slept quite well last night after his gorging and throwing up routine (I've done a separate thread if anyone has any ideas?) I've bathed him on my own for the first time today, and I'm going for a walk to the shop today for the first time too. I've just not felt well enough/ strong enough until now.

My answers to some of the questions asked-

I've just about stopped bleeding at 3 weeks 2 days pp, but I did have a c-section, not sure if that matters.

Blake's cord came off on day 11, and the scab came off a few days later. He has a lovely belly button now

I had to give up breastfeeding due to latching issues and 2 bouts of infectious mastitis. I sobbed to my midwife about how guilty I felt and I beat myself up that I didn't do enough or put enough effort in and it wasn't worth it. Blake is now completely formula fed and he's happy. He is putting on weight at a slightly alarming rate and I can rest and enjoy him. It's not the end of the world if you have to give up x
