****February 2019 Mamas****

Ahh jealous of you finishing work; although I have done my last Wednesday (due to midwife appointment next week) and tomorrow is a week until I finish. So hopefully it won't drag too much.

My husband worked out that if we have her closer to my due date he will have two weeks off with two parents evenings which to be honest would be quite good as it'd be easier for both of us, would mean I didn't have two really late nights with a baby who was a few weeks old on my own and also he wouldn't be overly tired from lack of sleep with a young baby and then having to sit and do parents evening. Although it doesn't matter either way; whenever she comes she comes and we can work with what we're given. It is nice to have thought of some pro's for if she does hang in there a little longer.

It'd be nice if she came before my husband's birthday so we can make plans (even if those plans are stay in and have a take away) as even that is up in the air if we were waiting around 5 days after her due date just in case things started happening.

It’s nice when you get to the last whatever day isn’t it. I had my last Tuesday yesterday as I am having Tuesdays off when I go back. That was a nice day.

I think the last date I will be induced is 15th, but find out on 6th. If it’s 15th it means we can have a nice chilled evening for valentines and then go in the next day. Eeeeekkkkkk. Xx

Oooh that'd be nice as well. Although you may not be waiting that long anyway.

Yeah I'm properly on the countdown now haha. Friday will be nice being my last Friday and then next week should be easier knowing it's my last week (well only 3 days really with Wednesday and Friday off) this week seems to be dragging a little. I feel so tired. I don't think it's work as I haven't had a hard week as such, I'm just not sleeping properly.

Puglover, it would be so sad if you stopped checking in! You're still part of our group! 5 lb 3 oz, what a sweet little peanut. I get so anxious driving with my little newborns, too! Especially cause all my kids have HATED the car and screamed the whole time. Fingers crossed this one is different and actually naps in the car like most babies seem to do!

Donna, work will be done before you know it. It's hard wondering when baby will arrive! I was just talking to my husband about this last night, like it's all I can EVER think about and yet I have no clue when it'll happen. I mean, not LITERALLY no clue; it's not like baby could be here in 5 minutes or 10 years. It's some time in the next 4 weeks. But it's such a surreal time, the waiting and wondering...

Penny, woohoo! Friday is so soon! Any fun plans to celebrate after your last day?

I am still riding a crazy nesting high. I can't believe how intense it's been this time around and I really hope it lasts up until delivery! My house is transformed, we have like 70% less crap and clutter, and cleaning it up is a breeze because there's simply less to clean. Granted most of that stuff went into the garage but we'll tackle that later, and at least it's out of my sight!

My midwife offered a sweep on the 28th, but since our insurance rolls over on Feb 1st (and because I'm more comfortable with interventions at 40+ weeks, anyway) I declined and we decided to do one on Feb 4th, which is the day before my due date. We'll see...!

Puglover, nice to hear from you and glad to hear things are going well and Daisy is getting out :)

I think I've been having a few more obvious BH contractions today, but I can't be too sure as whatever it is feels very mild and only lasts a couple of seconds. I see my midwife tomorrow morning so I'll have a chat with her about them.

I hit 38 weeks today and am feeling huge and achy but can't wait to move on to the next stage, I can't believe it could happen any day now!

My husband reckons I'll go into labour 10 days early, which would put me in labour on this coming Sunday, but we have a role playing game session on Sunday and I wouldn't want to miss it! :rotfl:

Here's how I'm looking at the moment

I'm hoping for the second full week in Feb sometime, which would be very close to her due date, so probably a fair bet but we'll see.

Haha hope you get your role playing done before labour starts.

I think that's partly why I'm hoping for that week; it's the wedding next week and I'm meant to be meeting a friend the following week. Any time after that I'll be happy. To be fair if baby arrives between the wedding and friend as long as it was closer to the wedding I could still meet my friend with the baby. I'm hating this not knowing, I never really got to that point with my son as I was in hospital at 36 plus 5 and then induced at 37 weeks... at the time I'd always assumed he'd come after his due date, so hadn't thought much about it yet.

I think having that happen with him has really made me realise that anything can happen and you can't put it down to due date and the week or so after. There really is a 5 week window (possibly longer than that as little Daisy has shown) where baby could decide to shoe up. I'm also quite nervous as have no idea what going into labour will be like.

Speaking of the wedding. What do you guys think to this as an outfit? I have a hat that matches the cardigan.

It’s lovely Donna.

No plans for when I finish, but have my second/family baby shower on Saturday so that will be a nice end to the week. x

So hard finding an outfit for a wedding when I'll be 38 and a half weeks pregnant - for some reason I honestly thought I was just going to be slim with a bump and would find outfit shopping easy haha. What a joke.

It's my baby shower on Saturday as well, calling it a baby shower but it's just an excuse to see everyone before she arrives to be honest. We're basically sitting in one or our favourite bars for a few hours with cake haha. It'll be a good excuse to get out though as we've very easily slipped into the habit of just staying in the house every weekend. It'll be interesting to see if I feel like that once maternity has started or if I want to get out and about because I'll be stuck in during the week a lot more.

I’ve been to a few weddings while being pregnant, found it so difficult to get a nice outfit. Ended up getting some from Facebook marketplace for £20.

My baby shower is just at my mother in laws, wanted an excuse to get everyone together, including mums and my gran in law. I’m looking forward to it.

Donna - is it a bar in Sheffield? xx

Yes - how well do you know the bars in Sheffield?
It's one that offer free venue hire so we thought we'd take advantage. Part of me can't be bothered. But I'm sure I'll enjoy it when we get there. I'll post a couple of pictures Saturday night (maybe haha)

I'm sure you'll have a lovely time getting everyone together. I'm still waiting for the next baby to arrive now. I wonder if any others will sneak in during January

My heartburn is back today with a vengeance :( not fun at all

I’m from Sheffield, so pretty well (town at least). I grew up in Hillsborough. x

Ahh nice, we're pretty new to actually spending time in Sheffield (I say pretty probably for the past 5 years) but we love it. It's about a half an hour's drive, but where we live it's also about 20 minutes to Doncaster and we find Sheffield just has a lot more to offer us. I think that will stay very much the same once baby arrives as there's a lot more family friendly places.

We really need to take our son to steamyard as he's obsessed with donuts. Might have to go over half term; either to try and set me off or as a trip out with little one.

You'll have to let me know some of your recommendations as well :)

My parents are in Sheffield so think we will make the most of it when she’s here too. I’m not so sure about family friendly yet though, still got to learn that bit.

I know when you are ready to leave your little one for a day, craft and dough on campo lane do a really good all you can drink prosecco brunch. I was supposed to be going to that the day I found out I was pregnant, so looking forward to a nice day out when i have the breast feeding/expressing thing down. x

Oooh I've been to craft and dough before but not had the prosecco brunch. Good idea to make the most of it once breast feeding and expressing is sorted out.

My husband is into his craft beers so we used to spend a lot of time in brew dog and DevCat. Haven't been to Sheffield for a while to be honest. In fact husband hasn't had a drink since new years as he doesn't want to not be able to drive if anything happens. He's undecided whether to have a few drinks on Saturday. I'm kind of torn myself; I think he'll be fine and can't imagine I'll be going into labour but I then also think it'd be typical that if he does have a few drinks that I will and we'll be stuck.

Anyone in this thread wants to join my WhatsApp group chat I've made? (Anyone can join, whatever your DD is) if so please private message me your mobile number. (Must have WhatsApp) x

I am having a booked Csec on 28Feb xx

I’ve finished work!! I’ve finished work!!!

Now for the fun to begin.... xx

Ooh I'm from Lincolnshire originally where my family live, and have an aunt in Sheffield. Living in beautiful Cornwall now if anyone comes down here!

Counting the days for you all! X

Ahhh exciting penniepie - I wish I'd finished. We could have had a drink at Meadowhall before babies got here.

I can't believe I still have practically a week. Today work has really wound me up. I feel like I'm just being worked to the bone with not give up at all. Got asked if I can find out exactly what time my appointment is next week so I can let them know so they know when I'll be in; it's like I'll happily work from home but I can't be put down for cover and there are plenty of people who are available to cover so they shouldn't "need" me. What are they going to do the following week? I mean I get not having a time is a pain; I thought it was as well - but I feel a bit like I'm not trusted and that's why I'm being asked. I've also been given loads of work to do, when I feel like actually my last week I should be basically tying up loose ends ready for leaving. There's more but it's caused me a lot of stress today. Not holding out hope for next week being any better and I wish I'd just called it a day earlier.
