Neither can I cause picking names is tricky for me as my OH is Turkish so want a name that's easy to pronounce but still Turkish! At least if I know what sex baby is I can narrow it down a bit ha! X

Happy 16 weeks to me & Suzanne!! Only days now till your scan!! How excited are you?! Very I bet x

Had my 16 week appointment today....all ok....my midwifes do your 16 week appointment at home, but she wasn't here very long....just a short pop in really. I asked her about being able to use the birthing pool in labour this time as i wasn't sure if I could with baby being number 5....some places say yes and some say no...but she said it shouldn't be a problem as long as it's not being used at the time.
Has anyone else used the birthing pools before? I don't want to actually deliver in the pool, but water really helps me when I'm in pain, so wanted to give it a go x

How is everyone feeling?? Sickness giving anyone a break now? Hope your all feeling good xx

Yeyy happy 16th week Mrsh!! I'll actually be 17 week when I have mine 16week appointment and I still have to go to the Drs for mine! Did u get to listen to baby's heartbeat? I can't wait for that?

3 days till gender scan woooooo! Thursday cNt come quick enough!

I've never used the birthing pools my last labour was only 2 1/2 hours so never got the chance to turn round it was very quick my midwife has even put in my notes had previous spontaneous labour! Ha I hope it's the same this time! I would really love to try it tho!

I've been feeling great last few days so went for a walk with daughter today ended up walking much further then planned so when I've got home I've got awful pains in my pubic bone right in the middle ouch it's really sore! I'm laid up on sofa at the min! Hoping it eases off tomo other then that feeling ok. Hope your feeling well xx

hi ladies, cannot believe Im in tri 2 now! Feels like Ive graduated after years of study or something This has to be one of the best feelings Ive ever had after 3 miscarriages and feeling like I would never get this far.

Today has been another tiring day at work - I'm struggling for motivation and have no idea how I'm going to survive still January before my leave starts. I'm sure it'll go by in a flash, at the moment though I just want to be at home all the time, without the stress of other things

So, of the ladies choosing to find out gender, when can you get your scans? There is a midwife practice here that will do them from 14 weeks - that's next week for me! They have some state-of-the-art machine that can pick up super detail apparently (they found my bicornuate uterus with the machine when no one else could). Im waiting to hear back from them for an appointment


On another note, I HATE my Doppler I stupidly took it out yesterday just for a listen out of curiosity and I spent all evening (and once this morning) obsessed. Im certain I could hear the placenta and pretty sure I picked up bubs heartbeat really briefly, but not long enough to show on the counter. Im so frustrated with myself for getting it out as now Im stressed again.
I think I will get OH to lock it up and not let me at it again until 16 weeks!

I really want to get a Doppler because the midwives in my area don't use them until you're 24 weeks, so I've got 8 weeks to wait before I'll get to hear . Anyone have any recommendations? I've seen a few on eBay but they all have mixed reviews so I don't want to waste money on a rubbish one haha! X

I'm too scared to get a doppler because if I can't find anything I'll have a meltdown. Earliest I can have a private scan here is 16 weeks but I'm booked for next Saturday x

I've never had a Doppler either, so I couldn't give any recommendations. I'm like you vic, Id have a total meltdown too if I couldn't find the heartbeat. I'm quite sure its 16 weeks in the UK for a gender scan coco....I know Suzanne has hers tomorrow (excited to find out Suzanne!!!) but that's fab if you can get one at 14 weeks where you are. Are you getting booked in for one?

Suzanne, I just realised I didn't answer your question when you asked if the midwife listened to baby's heartbeat at my 16 week appointment....but no she didn't. She said that baby will still be tucked just behind the pelvis right now so it's very hit or miss....I don't see her now until 25 weeks for my next clinic appointment either! Seems soooooooo far away.

The tiredness has really caught up with me today....and after spending nearly an hour and a half in Clarks getting the kids school shoes I could of just put my face into the nearest cake available....I settled for a wispa instead..hahaha.

Me neither never had a Doppler, I have thought about it but like the other ladies I would send myself into a state of panic if I found nothing! So I thought better about getting one.

I'm still feeling rough still got pain on my pubic bone not as bad as it was but I'll mention it to midwife next Wednesday. Hoping it passes without any worries.

Yes tomo is my gender scan at 12.40 eek! Feeling ok at the moment will change in the morning I bet I'll let u all know what team I'm on tomo eeeek!

Evening all
I had an angel sounds Doppler when I had Ds in 2010, I loved it at the time and picked up a heartbeat straight away when I bought it (at 17 weeks). Having said that I wouldn't get one again, I found myself using it too much, convincing myself that he wasn't moving enough etc & to be honest knowing me, I was probably listening to the placenta for 4 months haha! Best of luck at your gender scan Suzanne
