I agree with Sami, I'm a trained Clarks shoe fitter and even though I can do all the checks, I wouldn't buy cheaper shoes. Clarks and Start rite are designed with young feet in mind and little feet are so soft they are definitely worth the investment.
In these days of Primark and Asda you can get clothes so cheap, but I will always splash out on quality fitted footwear. My bunions are testament to what happens when you neglect your tootsies

clarks used to have a policy that if the baby gros out of their shoes within a few weeks then they will replace them worth checking
