I thought I would post this here as I know quite a few of us at the moment are expecting our second+ babies!

I was wondering if anybody had any advice on what essentials (or items that would make life easier) you would recommend for your second+ baby? DS will be 19-20 months old when baby arrives and I'm looking for advice on what could make the transition from just dealing with a toddler to dealing with a toddler AND a newborn easier?!

I already have a sling (close caboo) and a baby carrier (baby bjorn), and am considering a perfect prep machine as I don't plan to breastfeed.
I'm also looking for recommendations of reasonable priced double pushchairs for toddler and newborn.

Also feel free to just offer advice in general. I feel like I might need all the help I can get...

Many thanks in advance <3

My 2nd is 5 months old now. The best thing has definitely been the sling it's been a godsend. So have sticker books for dd1, they've been fab for when I'm feeding

Does your first still use the pushchair much? My eldest walked everywhere from 1 year old so I just bought a buggy board as I didn't feel like I needed to spend the money on a double

I wish he would walk! He’s over 14 months and still not walking! Lazy dude... so I think a pushchair is a must as he’ll be so new to it by then. Thanks for the advice! X

I'm on baby number 3.
Not so much essential but I didn't use a baby bath for long last time so won't be using one this time at all. Top and tail was always used though.

My baby bouncer got used lots as she was very unsettled.

My changing unit was a godsend and saved mine and ohs back, everything I needed was in one place too.

I bottle fed the first and second and the little formula storage things were fab as formula was already measured out.
(again I may be out of touch.. My youngest is 7 )

Mine are 13 and 7 so I'm so Out of touch with machines, bottles ect.
I'm also planning on using a sling for this baby (new to all the baby wearing so any advice you can give me would be amazing.)

I'd agree with lots of little books and things older sibling can use and keep a few nappies low down so they can help fetch and carry sometimes.

Expect some behaviour from the little one you haven't seen before, it's strange realising you have to share mummy and daddy, it's all normal and will pass in time.
My eldest was 6 when my little one arrived so a bit older but it still broke my heart when I didn't have as much time for him.

My friend swears by the perfect prep machine; I'm planning on breastfeeding but if it doesn't work out I will buy one of those and would recommend one to anyone who is formula feeding.

I use this as breast feeding didn’t work out for me. It’s fab. Bottles are made in two minutes. But my health visitor wasn’t overally happy I was using it. Iv looked everywhere to see what the issues are but as long as you change the filter it’s ok .
